Join us this week for a relaxed and enjoyable afternoon at our Senior Social at The Wakes, where good company and a great film come together for the perfect midweek treat.

We’ll be screening a captivating mystery set against the stunning backdrop of Venice. With its suspenseful storyline, intriguing characters and a touch of eerie atmosphere, it’s a film that will keep you guessing and spark plenty of conversation!

Alongside the movie, we’ll be serving delicious cake and tea/coffee, giving you the chance to sit back, unwind and catch up with friends old and new in a warm and welcoming setting.

Whether you’re a regular attendee or thinking of coming along for the first time, you’ll be sure of a friendly smile and a lovely afternoon.

💛 National Volunteers’ Week 🌟 Meet Matt!
Matt has been part of The Outpost Cafe & Bar at The Wakes for 5 years, supporting both in the kitchen and front of house. He enjoys preparing food, especially making toast and helping with vegetable prep, and takes pride in keeping the kitchen clean and tidy.

Matt also enjoys serving customers and being part of the front‑of‑house team, where his friendly approach shines through. With strong communication skills and excellent time management, he is a valued member of the team.

We had a wonderful time at yesterday’s Senior Social at The Wakes, which was made extra special by a fantastic live performance from singer and guitarist Ben Foulds.

Ben kept everyone entertained with a great mix of music, creating a lovely atmosphere that had toes tapping and smiles all around. It was brilliant to see so many people enjoying themselves and singing along.

Events like these are a great opportunity for our community to connect, relax, and have a bit of fun and yesterday certainly delivered!

A big thank you to Ben for his brilliant performance and to everyone who came along and made the event so enjoyable. 🎶🎵
