We're delighted to welcome Lou Lomas as Rooted's first Programme Director!
Lou is a locally based Creative Producer, Collaborator and Facilitator with over 15 years’ experience working across outdoor arts and community-led cultural projects. Her work has included collaborations with organisations such as Talking Birds, Imagineer Productions, Tappin’ In, Joy Arts Ltd and Ludic Rooms, as well as recent involvement in the Creative Explorers programme, Collaborate Nuneaton and Bedworth, and the Mark IT! event. She is also a board member of Outdoor Arts UK.
With a strong commitment to inclusion, partnership working and community engagement, Lou brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the local area. Lou said: “I am excited to be appointed as Programme Director in the borough, having worked here for a number of years supporting various programmes. I am thrilled to continue to advocate for and champion all the brilliant work from artists and communities in the area. The Rooted programme will celebrate the voices of the borough through community-led processes to deliver a vibrant and distinctive cultural programme of work. It’s an exciting time for Nuneaton and Bedworth, and I look forward to working with communities, artists and partners on this journey.”
As one of only twelve new Creative People and Places programmes in England, Rooted will begin its development phase in partnership with Arts Council England, focusing on listening, engagement and co-creation with local communities. Early activity will include shaping the programme’s identity, mission and priorities, ensuring that local voices are at the heart of future cultural opportunities.
Further updates will be shared as the programme develops.
