❕❕Keyless Entry Car | RFID Pouch Post❕❕

What is keyless entry?
Vehicles with keyless entry unlock automatically when the key comes within a short distance of the vehicle. This can be from inside a pocket or bag.

What is keyless vehicle theft?
Keyless vehicle theft or 'relay-theft' is when a device is used to fool the vehicle into thinking the key is close by. This unlocks the vehicle and starts the ignition. Thieves only need to be within a few metres of your vehicle key to capture the signal, even if it’s inside your home.

How are keyless vehicles stolen?
Keyless entry vehicle theft involves thieves working in pairs or groups to steal vehicles that are parked close to their owner’s home. One stands outside with a special device that remotely receives a signal from the key fob. The other stands next to the vehicle with a second device that receives a signal and unlocks your vehicle.

Keeping your keyless entry vehicle safe
- Consider a Faraday pouch to store your keyless fob in , these are generally around £5 to purchase.
- Buy and fit anti-tamper screws for your license plate
- Keep keys and fobs (including spares) away from windows, doors and the vehicle.
- Check the owner manual to see if the fob can be turned off
- If you have a second hand vehicle, make sure the fobs get reprogrammed
- Get fobs with a motion sensor where possible.

❗️❌Hate Crime Information | Reporting Hate Crime❌❗️

What is hate crime?
A hate crime is defined as 'Any criminal offence which is perceived by the victim or any other person, to be motivated by hostility or prejudice based on a person's race or perceived race; religion or perceived religion; sexual orientation or perceived sexual orientation; disability or perceived disability and any crime motivated by hostility or prejudice against a person who is transgender or perceived to be transgender.'

A hate incident is any incident which the victim, or anyone else, thinks is based on someone’s prejudice towards them because of their race, religion, sexual orientation, disability or because they are transgender.

Evidence of the hate element is not a requirement. You do not need to personally perceive the incident to be hate related. It would be enough if another person, a witness or even a police officer thought that the incident was hate related.

Types of hate crime
Physical assault
Verbal abuse
Incitement to hatred

‼️‼️SCAM ALERT‼️‼️

We have been made aware of a recent scam call.

Please remain vigilant when answering the phone calls from unknown numbers and opening emails.

A resident received a phone call from a (London) landline number, claiming to be calling from Sky. As they were out of contract they were not initially surprised by the call. The resident was promised 40% off of their contract and asked to provide their email address so a link could be sent to progress. The resident was then pushed to click the link to sign up to the contract and was transferred to another person when they asked further questions for more information regarding cost and period of contract. The new caller also asked for an email address and pushed the resident to click the link in the email and ignored all requests made for the same information as before.

Luckily the resident was suspicious and ended the call, looked closely at the email and did not click any links. They also Googled the number which confirmed it was a scam!

Report scam callers by calling the Government Fraud Line on 0300 123 2040

❕❕Operation Snap❕❕

Members of the public can report and submit digital footage showing potential moving traffic offences.

This can range from driving dangerously or carelessly to overtaking on solid white lines, using a mobile phone while driving, ignoring traffic lights or dangerous driving around other road users, such as horse riders and cyclists.

For moving traffic offences, your submission to Operation Snap will be sent to Warwickshire Police where the evidence will be reviewed by one of our road traffic police officers.

Submitters will be informed if the case will be progressed or not. If the case isn’t evidentially strong the rationale for no further action will be explained.

Road users across Warwickshire can report careless/dangerous driving and road traffic incidents using digital footage from dashcams or other devices.

Believe In Bedworth Project

Warwickshire CAVA is working on the Believe In Bedworth project. We are undertaking some engagement work to find out how people in Bedworth would spend £20 million on their town.

We want to hear the views of people who live or work in the town by collecting information through a survey or by coming along to groups to talk to people and hear what they have to say.

Bedworth is one of 75 areas across the UK that will receive the £20 million investment over the ten years, the aim is to support regeneration and economic development.
The survey can be found here https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/BedworthPlan/

Those that fill it in by Friday 3rd October 2025 will be entered into a prize draw to win a £100 multi shop voucher.

Please take a few minutes to take our survey.
