We're really pleased to share that the Hub is reopening under new (but very familiar) management.

The Positive Impact Foundation will be responsible for the Hub, & we wish them lots of luck for the future 👏👏👏

Introducing “The Hub” hosted by Positive Impact Foundation👋🏼

We are proud to announce the reopening of The Hub at 1 Donnithorne Avenue on Thursday 9th October at 10am for our coffee morning🥳

We will be honouring the current activities at The Hub - including the 3 warm spaces & coffee mornings on offer - and we will also be looking to grow the space and offer even more in the near future🤩

The Hub will be open Monday to Friday between 10am - 2pm starting from Monday 13th October.

Our warm spaces will be classed as “Happy Hours” and will provide free refreshments during those slots.

Outside of our “Happy Hours”, we will be operating as a community cafe with affordable prices for a hot drink or snack in a welcoming space, with all funds going back into The Hub so we can run even more activities for you all.

The Hub will have the same feel as before, but please bear with us whilst we make some changes over the next few weeks including new signs and a little freshen up inside to make it even cosier for everyone to enjoy!!☺️

Whether you are a local resident who fancies a chat, a parent on the school run or you need a place to pull your laptop out for an hour, we can’t wait to see you for a coffee and a new chapter at The Hub.

Today marks a sad day for Hill Top and Caldwell Big Local, not only have we handed the keys back to the landlord for the Hub, but also it's the final day of the Big Local programme in Nuneaton.

It's been a great experience & you can read a snapshot of our impact & achievements since 2012 in our report here: www.wcava.org.uk/programmes/hill-top-caldwell-big-local/

We'd like to thank everyone who has been part of our events & activities, been on trips, volunteered as a Partnership member, benefitted from advice, won a competition, read our newsletters, made wreaths, received a hamper, had a family food bag for £1, enjoyed subsidised access to local gyms, played in the upgraded Sorrell Road Park, been to a playscheme....the list is endless.

On a positive note:
* A new community organisation called the Unity Association have set up to carry on some of the good work locally (Unity Association) 🥳

* And don't worry, the Hub will be reopening soon, we can't say much at the moment, but will share the good news as soon as we can 🧐

HTC Highlight - Food and essential support for the community.

Over the last 10 years it has been important to HTC to support residents with the cost of living, to provide essential items and to provide social opportunities at afforable prices. Here are just a few of the ways that HTC Big Local have supported the community, it doesn't include the incredible support BranCAB have provided, to find out more join us at our Final Farewell Event on Saturday at The Hub from 12pm.

We have been supported by Warwickshire County Council for 2 years to provide lunches at the summer holiday activities, totalling around 1,235 lunch boxes given out.

Rhenus Logistics have supported us with a donation of 50 easter eggs and 100 christmas gifts to give out to children and young people in HTC.

We have subsidised 150 Panto tickets.. oh yes we have!!

We've worked with local schools and The Pantry to give out approximately 40 hampers at Christmas time for two years, hampers included essential food and household items.

Through Warwickshire Welfare Scheme funding we gave out 32 warm and well packs, which included hot water bottles, blankets, hats, scarves, gloves, bulbs, draught excluding tape, a crockpot or soup maker, and lots more to help keep warm over the winter and reduce energy bills.

During the Covid 19 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns HTC delivered essential items to each of the 1700 households, each containing a hand sanitiser and a mask. We also delivered 50 craft packs in Partnership with local business, Handcrafters Hub.

HTC also teamed up with Everyone Active & NBLT to offer local families free vouchers for either soft play or swimming sessions, 100 vouchers for each were given out.

A craft community!

HTC Big Local has hosted at least 36 craft workshops with The Creation Station Nuneaton and Bedworth, 5 our own craft workshops and worked with partners to deliver 5 arts based projects with Aspire in Arts, Escape Arts, Imagine Bamboo and Slimy STEM.

We estimate that over 300 residents have taken part in some arts and crafts activities during the life of the Big Local project.
