League of Friends donate equipment to help hip fracture patients

The League of Friends team at George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust have recently donated a Ta**us Frame to the physiotherapy team to help fracture patients. The £1500 equipment is an excellent rehabilitation tool for those patients who are non-weight bearing, experiencing pain whilst mobilising or lacking in confidence.

The Trust has around 350 hip and femur fractures admitted to us every year, many of these patients, amongst others will benefit from this piece of equipment. Hip fractures are the most common fracture requiring hospitalisation in the UK, accounting for 58% of hospital bed days.

The physiotherapy team are very grateful for the kind donation!
