A big win for women in Nottingham! ⚽💜 Last night, we headed to the City Ground for a charity quiz hosted by Gleeds – and an INCREDIBLE amount of money was raised for Nottingham Women’s Centre! 🎉

A HUGE thank you to Gleeds for organising such a fantastic evening, and to everyone who came along and helped raise money to support our work with women across Nottingham.

And a special thank you to Nottingham Forest for welcoming us to the home of Forest! We even got a little stadium tour. 👀⚽ What a night! 💜

🍲 A Taste of Angola: Food, Culture & Community

Join us in the Welcome Space from 12pm–1pm for an interactive session led by Angolan women from our community!

Discover how traditional Angolan dishes are prepared, learn about the ingredients and cooking methods, and hear about the cultural significance and stories behind the food.

It’s a chance to come together, learn from one another and celebrate Angolan heritage in a relaxed, welcoming space. 💛

Delivered in partnership with Angolan women and funded by Nottingham City Council.

Nearly £300,000 awarded to help domestic and sexual abuse survivors! 💷 🎉

An innovative programme using therapeutic yoga and body-based techniques to help women recover from domestic abuse is among eight projects receiving nearly £300,000 in new funding from Nottinghamshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner Gary Godden.

How We Heal - Trauma Recovery & Wellbeing CIC who operate across the city and county, has secured £29,142.50 to deliver seven Solace for Survivors programmes, offering a different approach to recovery for women who have experienced domestic abuse.

The project is among eight successful applications to the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Nottinghamshire’s Domestic and Sexual Violence and Abuse (DSVA) Grants Programme, with a total of £295,893.84 awarded to organisations supporting victims and survivors across the city and county.

Meet Evie! 👀💜 has coordinated English Conversation Classes as a (STAR) volunteer for the past two years, helping women practice their English, grow in confidence, and build friendships here at Nottingham Women’s Centre.

And as if that wasn't lovely enough, she and her partner Arran also ran a half marathon recently, raising an incredible £827 for the Centre! 🏃‍♀️🎉

An Update on our New Changes Project.

For the past few years, our New Changes project has provided information, advice, guidance and advocacy for women in Nottingham City and across Nottinghamshire.

While this project is coming to a close, we'll be launching a new casework service soon.

💜 We’re proud to be a Warm Welcome Spaces Champion for the second year running!

Being part of the Warm Welcome Campaign means helping make sure women have a welcoming place in their community to feel comfortable, connect with others and find support when they need it.

Everyone deserves a warm welcome, and we’re proud to play our part in making that happen.

📢 A little heads-up! Nottingham Women’s Centre will be closed on Thursday 22nd October for staff training, helping our team continue to provide the best possible support to the women we work with. 💜

We’ll be back open as usual on Friday 23rd October. Thank you for your understanding!

WE DID IT!!! 🎉💜 Thanks to your support, we reached our £10,000 Big Give target, including £5,000 in match funding.

The money raised will help fund specialist engineering plans for a future lift, alongside improvements to our toilets. It's real progress towards making Nottingham Women's Centre more comfortable and more accessible for more women.

To everyone who donated, shared our posts, told their friends, came to our Open Day and cheered us on: THANK YOU. You've helped make a real difference to the future of our Centre, and the women who use it. 💜

Join Janet Rose of When Women Gather for a joyful sing-along of iconic reggae songs and the stories behind them. No singing experience needed, just pay what you can afford.

Come to one or come to both, and celebrate Black culture and heritage with us through food, music and connection. 💛
