Looking forward to seeing everyone at the start of the Big Green Week tomorrow, 10 till 3 at the Woolsthorpe Depot, behind the Duck at Woolsthorpe, NG32 1NY - BBQ, home made cakes, and many stalls.

Don't forget Mikron, at the Plough at Hickling this evening - they're a great team and it should be a fantastic show.

The volunteer work continues…after a few days off due to the scorching temperatures, work has continued along the canal over the past week. Fence fixing, fettling fallen trees, w**d wrangling, gearbox gremlins (our workboat Centauri had to make it to the slipway 🤦‍♂️), reed removal etc etc

All set up at Houghfest, looking forward to a lovely summer afternoon and evening, live music and great food on offer.

We could even fit in a two hour trip if you're interested, starting at 1.00. Just imagine having a gentle cruise along this beautiful canal. Bring your own booze or we'll supply tea, coffee, squash, and biscuits.

This is looking like a great day, come along and join SKDC and Grantham Canal Society launching the Great Big Green Week 2026, Saturday 6th June 10 till 3. Free boat trips, cycle rides, bike marking, chat to the food waste team and explore a waste vehicle!
