We’re delighted to announce that this year’s annual SCLA Charity Golf Day will take place at Wollaton Park Golf Club on Friday the 3rd of July! 🏌️‍♀️⛳️🏌️‍♂️

Our Charity Golf Day helps raise vital funds for second chance learners across Nottingham, supporting them to succeed and thrive through a range of learning and support. 💚

Last week we had a really positive meeting with Josh Davis from Notts County Foundation Youth Hub to discuss how we can collaborate to support young people across Nottingham. 💚 Notts County Foundation

We are really keen to collaborate helping young people build confidence, develop employability skills, improve wellbeing, and access opportunities that support their future goals.

Meaningful collaboration between organisations creates a stronger support network for young people in Nottingham, bringing together different experiences, knowledge and approaches allows us to reach more people and create greater impact. 💚

We’re so excited about the potential opportunities ahead and look forward to continuing conversations about how we can support one another and the young people we work with.

At SCLA, we are a passionate, dedicated team committed to changing lives through learning.

We believe in the transformative power of our personal development programme, equipped2succeed, alongside personalised 1-to-1 support. Every day, we empower our learners to move forward with confidence, purpose, and belief in their capabilities.

Our team includes equipped2succeed Lead Facilitators, Learning Champions, 1-to-1 Employment Support Advisors, and our wonderful office team – all working together to support learners from all walks of life.

From delivering impactful programmes to providing tailored employment support, every team member plays a key role in helping individuals overcome barriers and realise their potential.

We’re proud to support people across Nottingham to build confidence, improve wellbeing, develop new skills, and take positive steps towards their goals.

The end to another incredible week at Second Chance Learning Academy!🌟

As this week marked Mental Health Awareness Week, we made sure our group discussions focused on the importance of our mental wellbeing. Learners were encouraged to try something new this week to help support and boost their mental health. 💚

Our lead facilitator, Zonia, took her equipped2succeed group outdoors for her e2s activities, recognising the positive impact that nature, fresh air, and sunshine can have on our wellbeing. It was fantastic to see learners engaging enjoying time outside together.

It was also fantastic to read through our learners’ self-reflections from the previous week and see the progress they are making. It’s incredibly encouraging to see learners actively putting the equipped2succeed course into practice, building confidence, developing new habits, and reflecting positively on their personal growth. 💚

The official colour for Mental Health Awareness Week is green. It represents hope, strength, and support. 💚

Shugufa - Lead Facilitator for SCLA - is a massive advocate for prioritising our mental health.

"I look after myself first - making sure I get my steps in, going to the gym and eating properly. I also like to write things down that are bothering me. Also keeping my space clean and tidy really helps me to feel calm and relaxed.”

Small habits lead to big changes. Whether you're going for a walk or clearing your space, remember to put yourself at the top of your to-do list today. 💚

Junk2Funk, our fun and creative activity this half term for young people aged 11 to 17 years old! ♻️

Over two days, you will turn everyday recycling into something fun, creative and reusable – putting your imagination and creativity to the test! 💡
