Our latest research with More in Common UK shows that while the desire to connect to your local community is still fiercely alive, too many of us lack those vital community bonds. Financial insecurity, the emotional toll of loneliness—particularly for our younger people—and political polarisation are keeping us apart.

The good news? Feeling connected to your local area doesn’t require massive lifestyle change - our data shows that community is often forged in the small, everyday interactions.
