Providing resources, equipment and well-being services 🩵 1160377
https://tr.ee/78i1mWh5vA The Harley Jae Trust was established in 2006 as a trust fund for a little boy called Harley Jae Blanchard-Rafter. He was born with a very rare neurological condition that left him with profound and multiple learning difficulties, severe epilepsy and physically disabled. Harley’s condition meant that he neede

d a high level of care which included medical care, therapies and equipment to give him the best possible opportunity to thrive and maintain a good quality of life. Maintaining good quality of life is an on-going battle for children with life limiting and life changing conditions and their families, so being to access services and equipment is vital. The needed equipment such as ventilators, CPAP machines, suction machines, specialist beds, standing frames and wheelchairs are very expensive and the growing need for such equipment is continuing to put pressure on the budgets of local statutory bodies. This means that accessing equipment can sometimes be a battle for the families and professionals. Harley and his family faced this challenge so for this reason, Harley’s Nanny, Teresa Blanchard set up a trust fund for him to try and raise money to buy a specialist wheelchair which he needed to help with his physical development. The event was a success and it lead to growing popularity for the trust and lead the way for many more events to come. Eventually the trust had been able to provide Harley with all of the vital equipment he needs, a trip to Disneyland Paris and a trip to Florida to swim with Dolphins. Harley’s family were then able to use raised funds to make donations to services for Children with life limiting and life changing conditions such as Schools, Hospital Wards and Children’s Hospice’s. His condition was very complex and it was an amazing achievement for him to reach that tender age. This achievement was a result of a combination of the love he received and the outstanding health care he received. In Harley’s memory, the trust has now become a registered charity with an aim to be able to provide vital equipment for children with life limiting and life changing conditions. Our first major project is to help the Paediatric Critical Care Unit at Nottingham's Children's Hospital, QMC by providing them with the equipment they need to be able to help long term patients have a more comfortable stay and also speed up there transition back home and into the community. This help will essentially help the unit free up bed spaces quicker which can subsequently save children's lives. The Harley Jae Trust is commited to making sure that awareness is raised around these issues and that we promote communitry involvment in making sure that children with life limiting and life changing conditions are supported as much as possible.

Next stop… Nice! 🇫🇷

Next week, this incredible group will be setting off on their journey to Nice, raising vital funds for our charity along the way. 💛

And they’ve already raised an AMAZING £5,000! 🎉

That £5,000 will make a life-changing difference to so many of the families we support, and we’re incredibly grateful for the time, effort and generosity that has gone into getting them this far.

With just one week to go, we’d love to give their fundraising one final push. 🙌

If you’re able to donate, however big or small, it all makes a difference. And if you can’t donate, simply sharing their fundraiser could help it reach someone who can.

Let’s get behind this amazing group and see how much more we can raise before they hit the road! 🚗💨🇫🇷

🚨 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED 🚨

Could you be part of a Guinness World Records attempt whilst helping to raise money for a local children's charity? 🥊❤️

We are looking for reliable volunteers to support an incredible 24-hour Guinness World Records attempt, taking place in aid of The Harley Jae Trust.

Our challenger will be attempting to throw an incredible number of correct punches over 24 hours, and we need volunteers to help make the attempt possible!

🥊 Volunteer roles will include:
✨ Counting and recording punches
✨ Observing the attempt and helping ensure punches meet the required criteria
✨ Acting as part of a team of counters and witnesses
✨ Helping us maintain accurate records throughout the challenge

You DON'T need to be a boxing expert or have any special qualifications to volunteer! We just need people who are reliable, focused, good at following instructions and happy to be part of an amazing team. Some knowledge or interest in boxing would be helpful, but full guidance will be provided.

There will be different shifts available throughout the 24-hour challenge, so you don't need to commit to the whole event.

This is a brilliant opportunity to be part of something truly unforgettable, support an official Guinness World Records attempt and, most importantly, help us raise funds for children and families supported by The Harley Jae Trust ❤️

📍 60 Goose Gate, Hockley, Nottingham, NG1 1FF
📅 Saturday 5th September
⏰ Various volunteer shifts available over 24 hour period.

If you think you could help, or know someone who might be interested, please comment below, send us a message or tag them in this post!

Please share far and wide — we need an incredible team behind us to make this happen! 🙌

🥊 MEET TERRY!

Meet Terry, who is taking on the challenge of attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the greatest number of full-extension punches completed in 24 hours.
But this isn’t just about breaking a record.
Terry has chosen to take on this huge physical challenge to raise money and awareness for The Harley Jae Trust, supporting children receiving care on the Paediatric Critical Care Unit at Nottingham’s Queen’s Medical Centre, and the families by their side.

For 24 hours, Terry will keep punching, with rest allowed but the clock never stopping! Every punch will be counted, witnessed and recorded as he pushes himself to the absolute limit.

Terry, we’re behind you all the way! 💙
24 hours. One record. One incredible cause.
