The Practical Philosophy Course Nottingham The School of Philosophy, a regional branch of the School of Philosophy and Economic Science.

Our 10 weeks course in Nottingham is intended to show how philosophy may help us enjoy richer, less stressful and more useful lives

Personal experience and observation is valued above theoretical learning

This is based on the idea that we can only ever really know something if we experience it ourselves

When other areas of life fall into a state of uncertainty or doubt, philosophy can provide directions and a sure way forward

Courses start at the beginning of each academic term. This page is moderated and contributed to by fans and students of the Practical Philosophy course. While the page has the support of the school it is not run by the school and all views expressed here are not the official views of the School of Economic Science or their representatives.

She may not be an ancient Philosopher (well give it a few years) but Oprah Winfrey was spot on with this statement.

During the opera festival fresco/house tours won’t be possible as the house is too full of wonderful opera people rushing around, building sets and singing arias.
So that’s Wednesdays and Fridays 9th -18th August. We might be back to normal after that! Sorry for any disappointment.
