IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Our recently sporadic posts are about to become a lot more sporadic because, here at Gentlemen United HQ, we are about to have a baby! So we will be taking some time out to adjust to our new little family and hope to be back to posting more regularly in the near future. In the mean time, look after yourselves everyone, and remember that itโ€™s okay not to be okay ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป

You may have seen some headlines stating that our health secretary, Wes Streeting, believes that mental health problems are over-diagnosed and has ordered a review on the matter. Whilst we remain cautiously optimistic that the findings will reflect that higher rates of diagnosis are a result of an increase in awareness and a reduction of stigma, we understand that those who struggle with their mental health may feel upset, angry and invalidated by the announcement. So we just wanted to say that we see you, we hear you, your struggles are real and your feelings are valid. Please donโ€™t let this put you off seeking the support that you deserve.

Bit different from our usual posts, but after one of our team witnessed and intervened in a racist attack last night, we wanted to share some things you can do to help if you witness racial abuse: https://inar.ie/witnessing-racism-what-to-do-as-a-bystander/

The world feels like a scary place right now with so much division at the forefront of the news and social media. Please keep yourself and your mental energy as safe as you can, enjoy the little things that are so easy to take for granted, look for the beauty in the every day, and reach out if you need support ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฟ

NOTTINGHAM AND NOTTINGHAMSHIRE - just seen an advert for Nott Alone on the tram, had a little look through and it looks like a great website for local resources and validation of feelings. Check it out: https://nottalone.org.uk/

We meant to post this yesterday, but got distracted! Yesterday was World Su***de Prevention Day, and we hope for a future where nobody feels like su***de is their only way out of their pain. If you are feeling suicidal, please reach out - to a loved one, a doctor, 999, a crisis line. The world is a better place with you in it ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป ***depreventionday

Tuesday is for MINT - Men In Need Together

Fellas, it's time to stop fighting battles alone. Join our Tuesday Night Support Group and connect with other men who get it.

Ever feel like youโ€™re drowning? Like no one would really understand if you opened up? We know itโ€™s hard, and we know how heavy that can feel. But you donโ€™t have to carry that weight alone.
