What a great day for Nottingham as an Inclusive Recovery City!!!! 🤩 Despite the warm summer weather, the community turned out in strong numbers for this year's Stronger Roots Nottingham Recovery Walk & Community Celebration. The event was officially kicked off by the Lord Mayor and the High Sheriff of Nottingham, with solid attendance and steady support at every stage along the route. Several trusty Stronger Roots core partners and volunteers supported the event, including CGL The Place Framework Charity Nottingham Recovery alongside staff and volunteers from Deloitte Nottingham - thanks so much guys!
The walk followed an interesting and varied route across the city, including through a fascinating tunnel in The Park and a photo stop at The Place, the Young Person’s drug and alcohol service, giving participants a chance to get to know each other as we walked together:
• Departure & Refreshments: Participants gathered and set off from Cafe Sobar, heading toward the Arboretum where walkers stopped for ice cream and summer games in the sun.
• The Route: The walk continued onward through the Forest Recreation Ground, giving participants time to connect, chat, and walk side-by-side.
• Arrival: The route concluded at New Art Exchange , where participants enjoyed high-vibes, live entertainment and delicious Caribbean food to mark the end of the walk and celebrate a successful day.
Thank you to everyone who took part, volunteered, and supported this amazing event!
