💙 Dr Vindla’s Sabbatical Leave – November 2026 to January 2027

We would like to let patients under the care of Dr Vindla know that she will be taking a period of sabbatical leave from November and is expected to return at the beginning of January 2027.

Please don’t worry – our lovely GPs will be providing cover while Dr Vindla is away, and we want to reassure all her patients that their care will continue as usual. 💙

The GP cover arrangements will be as follows:

📅 Monday & Tuesday: Dr R Dickson
📅 Wednesday: Dr Moss-Langfield
📅 Friday: Dr M Pryor

Although we will all miss Dr Vindla while she is away, we wish her safe travels and a wonderful time during her sabbatical! ✈️🌍

Do you look after a family member, friend or loved one? Take a little time for yourself and come along to our Carers Wellbeing Hub next Tuesday! 💚

Come and enjoy a friendly, welcoming space where you can meet others, access support, enjoy some refreshments and listen to our guest speaker, our Social Prescriber.

Flu Immunisation Catch-Up Clinics for School-Aged Children

Has your child missed their flu vaccination at school?

Flu vaccination catch-up clinics are available for school-aged children living in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire who have not yet received their flu vaccination at school or elsewhere.

Appointments are free of charge and must be booked in advance. Non-porcine flu vaccines are also available.

Please be aware that Sherrington Park Medical Practice will be closed from 12pm today, Tuesday 13th October, for essential staff training (PLT).

We will reopen tomorrow, Wednesday 14th October, at 8am.

If you need medical advice while we are closed, please contact NHS 111 or visit your local pharmacy. For urgent medical care, please use the appropriate urgent care service. In a medical emergency, please call 999.

Unfortunately, due to unexpected staff sickness, we have had to make some changes to our appointments.

Unfortunately, staff sickness is something that can happen unexpectedly and is beyond our control.

📊 SEPTEMBER APPOINTMENT STATISTICS

Here’s a look at how our appointments were used at Sherrington Park Medical Practice during September:

🩺 2,197 appointments were used.
📈 92.9% appointment utilisation
❌ 121 appointments were missed (DNA) – 5.1%
📅 184 appointments were cancelled – 7.8%

Thank you to everyone who attended their appointments and let us know when they were unable to attend.

💙 Please remember: if you can no longer attend an appointment, please cancel it as soon as possible. This allows us to offer the appointment to another patient who may need it.

Even a last-minute cancellation can make a difference and help us make the best use of our appointments.

🎀 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🎀.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in the UK. Finding it early can make a real difference, so it’s important to know your normal and check your breasts regularly.

🔎 Changes to look out for include:

• A new lump or swelling in your breast or armpit
• A change in the size or shape of your breast
• Skin changes, such as dimpling or puckering
• A change in the appearance of the ni**le
• Ni**le discharge
• Any other change that is unusual for you

Most breast changes are not cancer, but any new or unusual change should be checked by your GP.

Breast screening is another important way to detect breast cancer early. If you are invited for a mammogram, please make sure you attend your appointment.
