This summer season has seen the Outlaws make a number of trips out and about and yesterday evening we had a guided tour around Nottingham’s historic Lace Market Area with Graham Woodward the chairman of the Nottingham Civic Society.

The guided tour was very informative and interesting and we all learnt facts about an area that we thought we knew quite well. The tour also gave us the opportunity to take images of some of Nottingham’s oldest, grandest & quirky buildings. Our cameras were never far from hand and it was also a photographic tour on a local theme.

Below are a number of images taken whilst we were out & about in Nottingham and they show the popularity of the Outlaw’s outings.

NOPS would like to thank Nottingham Civic Society and Graham for giving his time and a very informative evening.

Notts Outlaw Patrick Wallis recently exhibited a selection of his nature print images at St James Church Mapperley.
I asked Patrick how he felt about having his very own personal exhibition and this is what he said. "Lat month I was asked if I would hold an exhibition of some of my nature photography at the St James Church, Summer Fair. I printed and mounted twenty images and displayed them at both the Fair and in the church the following week. I was approached by a member of the congregation who asked if they could purchase one which I was thrilled about. I then decided to make them all available to purchase and give any monies raised to the church maintenance fund. I raised in excess of £600.00 which I thought was amazing. I am now out with my camera taking more images in case I get another opportunity to exhibit again".
"I would like to thank NOPS for loaning me the display stands and to everyone who bought one of my images"

Vaisakhi 2026 at Wollaton Park

Vaisakhi is a spring festival which happens on 13th or 14th April every year. It is a day to celebrate 1699 - the year Sikhism was born as a collective faith.
Vaisakhi has been a harvest festival in Punjab - an area of northern India; for a long time, even before it became important to Sikhs.

On the 16th April 2026 at 7:45pm We will be hosting an evening with Stuart Wood (https://stuart-wood.com/), where he will give a talk on Portraiture. The event will take place at St James Church Hall, Marshall Hill Dr, Mapperley, Nottingham NG3 6FY, UK
Stuart Wood’s work is varied, but his specialities are people and lifestyle, where his ability to easily and quickly connect with people mean that he is especially successful in getting his subjects to open up and bringing more out of them.
Apart from regular commissions for his TV and magazine clients such as the BBC, ITV, Radio Times and Grazia, a lot of his assignments are in corporate portraiture, book commissions and annual reports. Again, this is an area where he feels his open and relaxed style helps his business subjects feel at ease.
In November 2010, Stuart won eight awards in the highly coveted British Institute of Professional Photography’s National Photographic Awards and in December 2009, Stuart became a Fellow of the BIPP, holding the highest level of professional photographic qualification available.
This event will be open to other clubs and the public at the Guest Admission Rate of £5.00 (pay on the door) which includes Refreshments.
