A fun Sunday afternoon for Ignite and Roots while Thrive served. As a group, they were looking at how God provides for us. Our oldest Ignite members were thinking about how it can sometimes be tricky being a Christian and that it needs effort, just like staying in touch with a friend takes effort.

This afternoon, we had a wonderful time together in our groups. Roots learnt about Joshua 1:9 and being brave and courageous - they took on an adventurous challenge and had to trust; Ignite dived further into their learning on Life with Jesus; and Thrive reflected on Matthew 6:19-24 and thought about where their treasure lies.

What a wonderful evening! Tonight, we had 15 of our amazing young people come together to enjoy games, catch up, share lots of laughs and continue building friendships and relationships.

They are such an awesome group, and it’s a real privilege to spend time with them, see them growing in confidence and watch relationships flourish. We’re so grateful for each and every one of them!

Yesterday, our children and young people were wonderful examples of community action as they served alongside our SPD family as part of our Love Daybrook teams. From starting the day together, to joining teams of SPD members to litter pick, clear public spaces and sing for our local community, they threw themselves into the day with enthusiasm and kindness. We finished by sharing lunch together, celebrating a fantastic day of serving our community side by side. We’re so proud of them!

Yesterday, while Thrive were serving, Ignite and Roots had a lovely afternoon learning how God is with us EVERYWHERE.

Our Year 7’s also talked about the fact that the one thing we must do to be a Christian is to trust God.

A lovely first time back together this academic year.

Roots and Ignite looked at Psalm 139 and thought about how we are wonderfully made by God. Then we split into two groups and our Y7s began their new 'Life with Jesus' programme and we enjoyed drawing portraits and singing songs - Roots have moves!

We’re about to start a new term with our wonderful SPD children and young people, and we’d love someone to join us and help lead us as we grow our ministry further.

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about seeing children and young people know Jesus, grow in faith and discover their place within God’s family.

This September we will celebrate 5 years of growing this area of our mission at St Paul’s and now with 25 regular attendees to our weekly groups aged from 1 to 18 years old, we’re excited to be joined by someone who can lead the next phase of growing these young disciples of Christ, connecting with local families in our parish and connect school and who can bring the energy, excitement and ideas to grow this area of our outreach even more.

For our young people and families getting results today…
However it goes…relief, excitement, disappointment, or all of it at once…that feeling is all real and all yours.

But here's something to consider and hold onto alongside it:

“For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which he prepared in advance for us to do." — Ephesians 2:10

Today's results are one part of your story, there is lots more to come. Whatever they say, the plan for your life is still yours, and God's still walking it with you.

Wherever today takes you, you are held, you are known, you are loved. Walk in it. 💛

Thinking of and praying for our wonderful young people and their leaders as they join the DTI festival this week - we can't wait to hear all about it!

🙏 Sending off our SPD Kids & Youth - St Paul's Daybrook to Dreaming the Impossible!

With tents, sleeping bags, fancy dress, full car boots and open hearts, we dropped off some of our young people and leaders for a weekend at the Dreaming the Impossible youth event, and we couldn't be more excited for them!

We were so excited we forgot to take pictures of the set off 🫣

Please do join us in praying these coming days…
🤩That they have an amazing time together, making new friends and growing deeper in their friendship with God

🙌🏻For our brilliant leaders and friends who've taken them…that they'd feel supported, and be able to share their hearts, faith and expectation with the young people this weekend

🤍That every young person there would know just how much they are already everything they're created to be

🫶🏻That they'd all be kept safe, and feel truly loved…by God, and by all of us back home cheering them on
