After 22 years of fundraising, the Swift family, behind Nuthall Christmas Lights, switched off their lights for the final time.

They recently returned to Hayward House for a cheque presentation and to see the incredible impact their fundraising has made over the years.

In total, they have raised more than £179,000 for Hayward House Nottingham City Hospital, with their final display alone raising an amazing £41,824.20, shared between Hayward House and When You Wish Upon A Star.

We are incredibly grateful to the family for continuing to support Hayward House in memory of Wendy’s father, John Sheeran, who sadly passed away 22 years ago.

Their fundraising has helped create a family room for visiting loved ones and supported the transformation of our gardens as part of the Hayward House Appeal, creating a peaceful space for all.

A Nottingham family has raised more than £300,000 for charity over the past two decades through their annual Christmas lights displays.

Yesterday we visited Nottingham Hospitals Charity Hayward House Nottingham City Hospital & When You Wish Upon a Star to hand over the donations from Nuthall Christmas Lights

Each charity received a massive £20,912.10

We can confirm the final total for Nuthall Christmas Lights 2025 is a fantastic £41,824.20!

This will be split 50/50 between When You Wish Upon a Star & Nottingham Hospitals Charity - Hayward House Nottingham City Hospital giving each charity £20,912.10 👏

UPDATE: Nuthall Christmas Lights Hit £300,000 Fundraising Milestone After 22 Years

Nuthall Christmas Lights have confirmed they have now reached their long-standing fundraising target of £300,000, bringing 22 years of community fundraising to a close.

The much-loved display, which began in 2003, raised £41,824.20 during its final season, pushing the overall total raised since it began beyond the £300,000 milestone.

The funds are being shared between When You Wish Upon a Star and Hayward House Nottingham City Hospital.

In its first year, the display raised just £197. Over the following two decades, it grew into a major community fundraising effort supported by thousands of visitors and donors.

Organisers have thanked everyone who donated, supported, shared posts or simply visited the lights over the years, describing the response from the community as overwhelming.

After 22 years, Nuthall Christmas Lights conclude their run having raised more than £300,000 for good causes - leaving behind a powerful legacy built on generosity, consistency and community spirit.

Ey up… it doesn’t feel right saying this, but this really is the final few nights of the Nuthall Christmas Lights. 🥹

I’ve stood here for a bit longer than usual tonight.
Lights twinkling.
Kids laughing.
Grown-ups pretending they’ve “just popped out for a look” when really they needed a bit of Christmas magic too.

For 22 years, this family has done something special.
Not just lights… but hope.
Not just decorations… but kindness.
Hundreds of thousands raised for charity.
Memories made that will last far longer than any fairy light ever could.

If you’ve already been - thank you for being part of it.
If you’ve been meaning to go but life got busy - this is your sign.

Go.
Wrap up warm.
Take someone you love.
Stand still for a minute and just feel it.

Because once the lights go off…
what’s left is the reminder of just how much good a community can do when it comes together.

When You Wish Upon a Star & Hayward House Nottingham City Hospital Nottingham Hospitals Charity have both been sent £250 each from Wise Living on behalf of Nuthall Christmas Lights

No that we have gone over £41,000, this means that over 22 years a massive £300,000 has been raised! 🎉🎉

There's still time to make a donation if you wish, we will be doing a final total on Sunday evening so that we can arrange to hand over the money to both charities.
