Salah and jamaàt prayer timetable for 14th August #2026

🌒 SALAT-UL-KUSUF | THE SOLAR ECLIPSE PRAYER 🌒
Today – Wednesday 12th August | 6:15pm

Assalāmu ‘Alaykum wa Rahmatullāhi wa Barakātuh,

This evening, we will witness something that many of us may never witness again in our lifetimes: a major partial solar eclipse, with around 90–96% of the sun covered by the moon.

But for a believer, an eclipse is not merely a spectacle in the sky. It is one of the great signs of Allah ﷻ.

When an eclipse occurred during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he did not treat it casually. He turned to Salah, Du‘ā and remembrance of Allah. He ﷺ said:

“The sun and the moon are two signs from the signs of Allah… When you see them, pray and supplicate until it is cleared from you.”
— Sahih al-Bukhari

In the times we live in, perhaps there has never been a greater need to stop, reflect and take account of ourselves before we are taken to account.

We encourage our brothers, elders and young people: please do not allow this moment to simply pass by. Come to the Masjid and revive this important Sunnah together.

Further adhkār and recitations will continue after ‘Asr.

Please arrive before 6:15pm and encourage your family and friends to attend.

May Allah ﷻ allow us to recognise His signs, soften our hearts through them, accept our Du‘ās and make this an opportunity for us to sincerely return to Him ﷻ. Āmīn.
