Calling All National Service Veterans: Share Your Story and Inspire the Next Generation

Creative Paths (EM) CIC is launching a powerful new heritage and wellbeing project across Newark, Worksop, Retford, Mansfield, Ashfield, and Nottingham City — and we’re inviting National Service veterans to be at the heart of it.

If you served between 1949 and 1963, we want to hear from you.
This community-led initiative will preserve and celebrate the stories of National Service veterans through interviews, reminiscence workshops, and oral histories. Your memories will help build a lasting legacy that educates young people and strengthens community ties.

What’s Involved:
Share your story in a relaxed, supportive setting in a setting local to you
Take part in a reminiscence session to share and connect with other veterans
Help shape a digital archive of veteran memories through sharing your stories and memories.

The project is open to all veterans of National Service, including those in care homes or living with age-related conditions. We especially welcome participants from diverse backgrounds and those who haven’t previously shared their stories. Sessions and Oral histories will be taking place in June and July 2025.

Get Involved: If you or someone you know is a National Service veteran in Newark, Worksop, Retford, Mansfield, Ashfield, or Nottingham City, please get in touch.

We are also looking for suitable venues to host this project.
