On Friday we said a big thank you to Margaret and Ray George for all their time supporting not only the Friday morning drop in at the Village Hall but all the other events they have run and helped at. They will be moving away to pastures new to be nearer to family. All the very best from all at Gunthorpe Village Hall.

Despite the challenge we may have in getting access through the Village the Friday Club at Gunthorpe Village Hall will be open as usual. Apparently there are rumours that we won’t be! So as usual. Drinks and biscuits for just a £1 entry Fee. Breakfast Cobs starting at £2.00. We’ll try to keep you posted about whether driving to the hall will be possible and from what direction.

Love meeting new people? ☕️🍰 Our Friday Morning Drop-in at Gunthorpe Village Hall is looking for new volunteers to join our friendly team!

Every Friday from 9am–12pm, we serve up drinks, cake, and breakfast cobs to our wonderful local regulars. It’s a truly rewarding way to spend your morning—honestly, it feels more like a catch-up with friends than a chore!

What’s involved?
✨ Availability on Friday mornings (don't worry, you don’t need to do every single one!)
✨ Occasional shopping (which can be combined with your own)
✨ Completing some Food Hygiene training (we’ll guide you through it)

You’re even welcome to buddy up and volunteer with a friend or partner!

Interested? Send us a private message or (mailto:[email protected]). We’d love to answer any questions you might have!

Over the spring and summer the village hall has benefitted from a number of Toot Hill and Southwell Minster School children volunteering their time as part of the Duke of Edinburg Scheme.

They have collected litter, repaired football pitches amongst other things 🙌🏻👏👏🙌🏻

So next time you visit the hall and field please try and help keep it in the fantastic state it currently is in.

OVER THE MOON
Roots Swing duo Over The Moon's Suzanne Levesque and Craig Bignell are awarding multi-instrumentalists/vocalists. From a ranch in the foothills of Alberta's Rocky Mountains they visit our Village Hall in Gunthorpe, courtesy of Warthog Music.

Their music is a wild ride from 40's sounding western swing and Appalachian old-time, to cowboy blues. Simple and sweet.
