It's our birthday, Scouts! 🎉 🥳 ✨

119 years since the very first experimental Scout camp pitched up on Brownsea Island, Dorset.

We’re so proud of everything our volunteers have done since then to give young people a place to belong. Thank you to you all! 🙌

This August, we’re joining the UK Government’s Great British Summer Savings scheme with free travel for all children aged 5 to 15 across all NCT bus routes.

Between 1st to 31st August 2026 inclusive, the Government is funding free bus travel for children on bus routes in England making it cheaper for families to visit the Nottingham Beach as well as go out for meals, the theatre and cinema.

All Cast rehearsals will take place on SUNDAYS ONLY, there are no planned Tuesday evening rehearsals this year. (Occasional Monday evenings for some sketches)

Cubs had a great adventure on a walk around The Hobbucks a little while ago. During their walk, they practised tree identification and collected natural items that will be used to create cyanotypes at a future Cub meeting.

It was lovely to be out and about in the local community. The walk had originally been planned to include a litter pick, but following a risk assessment visit a few days beforehand, it was noted that there was absolutely no litter around The Hobbucks area.

This is a fantastic achievement and a real credit to everyone who uses, cares for and helps look after this wonderful local space. Well done to all involved! 🌳⚜️

Cubs had a fantastic time decorating the pinch pots they made a few weeks ago. The Cubs were really impressed with how their pots turned out and enjoyed discussing all the different ways they could use them and what they could store in them 🎨

Once their masterpieces were complete, the Cubs learnt a few different methods of tying and storing rope. Not only is this a great help for our leaders, but it’s also a great practical skill for the Cubs to take away and use in the future 🪢

Another great evening full of learning, creativity and fun! ⚜️
