Rocky has been with us for 10 weeks and is now ready to find his forever home 🐾

He has thrived in foster care and is starting to show his affectionate, food-loving side. He can be a little unsure when meeting new people at first, but with time and patience his confidence continues to grow.

Although fledglings have been around a few weeks, some birds may be on their 2nd brood, we are still getting asked to rescue young birds. The majority of fledging's are fine, they are doing just what nature intended. Fluttering almost clumsily and not properly flying is normal. Drooping wings, blood or not being able to grip isn't. That's when you should seek help from a wildlife rescue or a vet. The best advice is to observe for a good while as parents will come down to feed their youngsters but won't if you are too near. Nothing can care for young birds like their parents.

✨THE IMPORTANCE OF FOSTERING✨
Fostering gives cats a safe, temporary home where they can relax, recover, build confidence and show us who they really are.

It helps us understand their personalities, routines, behaviours and individual needs, so we can find the right forever home for them and help set them up for a successful future.

🐾 Rocky’s Story 🐾

Rocky came into our care as a tough street tom with a burst abscess and an upper respiratory infection. He’d survived outdoors with people feeding him, but no one taking responsibility for him.

After more than two months in boarding, Rocky was struggling. He hated the environment and became fear aggressive, making it hard to see the cat behind the fear.

He then went into foster care with Dan.

The difference has been incredible. For the first time he could settle, decompress and begin trusting people at his own pace. The cat we see now is completely different to the frightened boy who first arrived.

Rocky is still looking for his forever home and is available for adoption, but fostering has already changed his future.

🐾 Chuckie & Phineas 🐾

When they first went into foster care, they hid for the first 36 hours. They were timid, unsure and frightened.

With patience and reassurance, their foster carer Anita slowly saw their personalities begin to shine through.

She discovered:
Phineas loves attention and fuss
Chuckie is the mischievous one
They love “mad half hour” zoomies together
They enjoy sunbathing and birdwatching
They became affectionate, playful and full of character

These are the things we often only learn in a home environment, and this is vital for matching cats with the right forever families.

Thanks to fostering, Chuckie and Phineas found their forever home together.

🐾 Could fostering be right for you? 🐾

If you think fostering could be right for you, we’d love to hear from you.

You provide the love, patience and safe space. We provide everything else, including food, litter, toys, supplies and veterinary care throughout the fostering journey, alongside ongoing support and guidance from our team.

We've all had enough of the wet stuff over the last few weeks but this weekend the sun should (don't come for us if he doesn't) have his hat on! You can help wildlife in a very simple way. Whether it's shallow bowl with pebbles that mini beasts can access water from or a bird bath that birds can bathe and drink from, water is essential for all creatures. 😁

Wishing you all a fantastic long weekend! Dare we say it...the sun's out...don't want to scare it away! If you are conc...

It's hotting up out there ☀️🌤️☀️Thinking of leaving your dog in the car for a few minutes whilst you run an errand? Just don't do it! Even after years of campaigning we still get phone calls and emails about animals, particularly dogs, left in cars on warm days who are showing signs of heat exhaustion. Temperatures soar in minutes and 'not long' IS too long! If your dog cannot accompany you everywhere whilst out, please leave them at home with plenty of water.
If you see an animal in distress in a vehicle please contact the Police, take photos and gather witnesses. Only the Police can legally break into a car.
