Framework exists to support homeless and vulnerable people in our communities. Volunteering plays a huge role in that work.

We're delighted to announce the launch of the sixth Volunteer Pathway programme today.👏

It's designed to support our volunteers on their journey into employment with Framework. The 12-week course helps participants to:

👉 Develop their skills and confidence

👉 Build their understanding of the people we support and our services

👉 Showcase their strengths through job applications and interviews

Every member of this cohort is already making a valuable contribution through their volunteering, and we're excited to support them over the next twelve weeks as they learn, grow, and prepare for the next step in their careers.

We wish them every success and can't wait to see our newest cohort build connections, develop new skills, and thrive together. 🧡

As we get ready to launch the sixth Volunteer Pathway, we're taking a moment to celebrate the success of our last group, with more than half of participants already securing employment! 🌟

One of those success stories is Hang, who graduated from the Volunteer Pathway in June and has since joined Framework in an administrative role supporting people experiencing homelessness across Nottingham. Her dedication, compassion, and hard work have shone through, and we know she'll be a fantastic asset to the team, and to the charity at large.

We have been nominated for Volunteering Group of the Year at the My Local Awards 🏆

🌑Yesterday, the world looked up as the sun was eclipsed, but for our service users, the darkness can feel eternal. Our volunteer befrienders can bring light back into their lives. Sometimes, a friendly face over a cup of tea can make all the difference to someone, to help them feel less alone, and to help them face the world.

We're incredibly proud that we have been nominated for Volunteering Group of the Year at the My Local Awards. These independent awards are decided by members of the public and celebrate the UK's best-rated local businesses and community groups.

The impact of our volunteers speaks for itself, and we are so grateful for all they do:

👉In the past year, our volunteers gave over 6,000 hours of their time, helping us support more than 2,000 service users.

👉 78 volunteers have been matched with a suitable placement since September 2025.

Yesterday was the Volunteering Team’s annual development day. This was our opportunity to get together and discuss the last year of volunteering with Framework: what went well, and how we could improve our services for you. We want all of our volunteers to feel welcome, valued, and supported towards their goals, and we are always open to more ideas of how we can do this. Included was the volunteer who works with us in the team, who was invaluable at giving us a fresh perspective!
We also took a trip to the croquet club, where boss man Omied taught us some basics, and we got a little competitive! We hope you are all enjoying the sunshine as much as we have been, and we look forward to supporting you for the rest of this year and beyond! ☀️

It was a bright early start for our administrator Ethan yesterday as they joined the Street Outreach Team at 5:30am to begin the task of locating rough sleepers around Nottingham. With temperatures expected to reach highs of 38C this week, the team carried out the vital work of providing clean drinking water to people exposed to the elements. Covering many miles before most of us are out of bed, the Street Outreach Team are a crucial part of how Framework supports vulnerable people year-round. If you are rough sleeping and in need of support, or are concerned about someone you have seen sleeping on the streets, the team can be contacted 24/7 by calling 0800 066 5356, or texting “SOT” followed by your message to 80800. Stay safe in the extreme weather this week, beware of heat exhaustion and heat stroke, and share a thought for those less fortunate

Our June training was this week, welcoming the newest volunteer cohort to Framework. We love getting to meet everybody and finding out more about what brings you here. During our two-day training, we give you a crash-course in how Framework operates, and how to support the people we work with. The first day is with our volunteer manager Omied (pictured) - always welcoming you in with a smile and some terrible jokes! Day two completes the programme with the in-depth understanding of our service users and the issues they may be facing. This is the perfect way to set you up for your volunteering journey! 🎓
