Thank you to the incredible Horton Womens Holiday Center for an incredible weekend of sisterhood, rest, relaxation, healing and finding our strength.

We were fortunate to be able to co-ordinate a group of women having a short break at Horton for the bank holiday weekend and the experience was incredible. The "magic of Horton" really found our women!

We'll definitely be back! If you're interested in joining future women's weekends away, wellness days and events please be sure to follow our socials and do ask to join our WhatsApp community (women only).

Our next event is (all genders) The Big Lunch Nottingham with NWFC & Tiger CE CIC on June 6th. Our next women only social event is the 14th June - Women's breakfast a drop in event held every month on the 2nd Sunday.

Walking is the only activity women do more than men, but...

🕛 29% say a lack of time prevents them from walking more
🌳 14% don’t walk as much due to a lack of safe spaces
❌ 14% are put off walking more due to lack of public toilets

We often hear that women are just less ‘sporty’ than men, but that’s not true.

There are a hundred and one extra things women have to contend with before they take their place on the start line, or in this case, before they step out the door.

Women spend on average 54 more minutes per day on unpaid work than men, including housework, caring for others and volunteering.

Couple this with a lifetime of being stereotyped away from sport, and it’s no wonder that women are less active than men at every stage of their lives.

This is having a detrimental impact on their health, with women spending 25% more of their lives in poor health than men.

Something needs to change.

Our charity exists to break down the barriers holding women back in sport, and in life.

Happy International Cup of Tea Day ☕💚

We do love an “International Day Of…” don’t we? There’s one for everything these days — and honestly, we’re not complaining when it involves tea.

But behind the biscuits and brews, a cuppa can actually do something pretty powerful.

For someone experiencing domestic abuse, having a simple “fancy a tea?” from a friend can open the door to a conversation they’ve been scared to have. No pressure. No judgement. Just space to talk.

Sometimes support starts with:
🫖 A safe space
🫖 Someone willing to listen

So today, check in with a friend, put the kettle on, and remind the people around you that they don’t have to go through things alone.

Because tea may not fix everything, but it could be that first 'sip' in the right direction. ☕

One more week till May - Women reading Women - monthly women's book group where we'll be discussing "Strong Female Character" by Fern Brady. Plenty of time to make a start on the book!

This group welcomes women to spend time with other women discussing books written by women. We do ask you try to read the book but you're welcome to join if you haven't finished it so long as you don't mind hearing all about it, when discussing fiction please be aware the group discussion will include plot spoilers.
