Karen Shirazi
1969 to 2025

On Monday May 12th, our Betel family lost one of our dearest friends, pastors and spiritual mothers, Karen Shirazi. Karen’s Christ-like kindness, gentleness, loyalty and selfless care for others touched all of our lives. Everyone and everything she touched flourished these past 14 years, as she and her husband Sam, along with beloved 12-year-old son Daniel, skillfully led the Betel Derby community.

Karen, your departure feels far too early, and you will be deeply missed. But because He called you on to Glory before us, we now long even more to be where you are.🤍

They did it!!!

Here they are at the summit of Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the UK — completing the final leg of the
Three Peaks Challenge. What an incredible achievement! They ran down the bottom of Ben Nevis, completing the challenge with 10 minutes to spare. We are incredible proud of the team!! 🥇

As part of their training, the team completed a 10-mile hike through Giddy Edge. It was meant to take 5 hours, but they finished it in just over 3! 💪🏼
