Monday 1st – Sunday 7th June 2026 is the 42nd Volunteers' Week in the UK and we would like to take this chance to celebrate the incredible contributions that volunteers make our service.

Our volunteers make such a difference to our organisation, involving themselves in a wide range of activities and gifting their time. Our service wouldn’t be the same without you. Thank you from The Carers Hub Team!

Children's Commissioner for England Dame Rachel de Souza, has launched The Big Future. Childhood is changing and we need to make sure that decision makers hear directly from children about what they need to make their lives better.

Taking part in the survey gives young people the chance to directly influence future policy, practice, and services that aim to improve outcomes for them.
You can find out more and access the survey here: https://www.childrenscommissioner.gov.uk/the-big-future/

Last week was Dementia Action week and members of the Hub team were out and about across the county to help raise awareness of our service and the support available to those with dementia.

Alison attended the monthly dementia hub in Kilton and Worksop as well as the launch of the new Dementia Hub at Ollerton Day Service. Alongside this Ella, one of our support workers also attended a special dementia event at Queens Medical Centre.

At all of these events Alison and Ella met with local patients and families affected by Dementia to provide support and information and show them how our service is able to assist them.

If you would like to find more events that support those with dementia and their carers you can do so here: https://shorturl.at/YeGEh
