As it is currently a quiet period for swimming, I would like to share a photograph from the recent International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame (IMSHOF) induction ceremony in San Diego.

Our President, Michael Read MBE, was invited to the event to induct Marwan Saleh. Please find a photograph from the ceremony attached.

Congratulations to everyone who was inducted in 2026. Finally, we would like to send a huge, belated happy birthday to Michael, who celebrated his 85th birthday this past Tuesday.

SANDY WOLLMAN - A Good But Not Great Swimmer: How I Swam the English Channel 📓📖🇺🇸

We are pleased to share that Sandford (Sandy) Wollman, swimmer #470 (13 hours and 6 minutes), has recently published a book detailing his experience swimming the English Channel 30 years ago.

Sandy wrote this book to encourage readers to "Go For It," regardless of what their specific goal may be. His message is that if a "good but not great swimmer" can successfully cross the Channel, there are no limits to what anyone can accomplish with the right motivation.

Sandy worked with writing coach Glenn Stout, author of Young Woman and the Sea, the story of Gertrude Ederle.
