Good news! The NEP Toolshare is now open to everyone 🎊

Previously the Green Meadows Toolshare, the scheme is continuing under a new name and is now available to anyone who finds it convenient to pop into the NEP Climate Hub.

For £70 a year, members get unlimited free tool loans, helping you save money, share resources and reduce waste 🔨

The average member has saved £582 and helped avoid 53 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions (CO2e).

✨Members can also find out about useful training, events and how-to guides, and the chance to pop in and join DIY Club while the Toolshare is open (4pm-7pm, every Friday).

We are excited to be working with Nottingham City Council My Nottingham this week, delivering energy efficiency advice to the residents in the heart of the city centre. One of our Mobile Advice Centres (MAC) has been invited to park outside Primark on Smithy Row Monday to Friday of this week.

YES are working with Nottingham City Council and Nottingham Energy Partnership (NEP) on the Councils Warm Homes Local Grant Scheme (WHLG). This scheme can provide residents with funded installation measures for insulation, air source heat pumps and solar PV panels.

Our energy advisors on the MAC van will also be speaking to residents about ways to reduce their energy bills, the Priority Services Register, carbon monoxide safety, energy bill tariff comparisons, smart meters and income maximisation, with onward referrals and signposting where relevant.

We can hand out free carbon monoxide monitors and will post our free Energy Saving Advice Pack out in the post. The Pack contains useful tips and gadgets that can be used around the home to save money on energy bills and keep the home warmer.

We are able to speak to the public face to face in our incredible MAC vans thanks to our partner Cadent, who have funded the MACs. Cadent are the largest Gas Distribution Network Operator in England and are funding the MACs to make it easier for their residents to access energy advice no matter where they live.

🍦 You’d expect to see an ice cream van at Nottingham Beach... but an energy advice van? Now that’s something a little different!

From 17th–21st August, YES Energy Solutions’ Mobile Advice Centre will be at Nottingham Beach on Smithy Row, offering free, impartial 1-1 energy advice to Nottingham residents, from 10.30am - 4pm.

If you’re in the city centre over the school holidays, pop along and find out how you could:
• Save energy and reduce your bills
• Get advice on energy tariffs and switching
• Improve your home’s energy efficiency
• Find out about support and funding available for your home

The team can also provide advice on measures such as insulation, solar panels and air source heat pumps through the Warm Homes Local Grant.

🎁 Free Energy Advice Packs will also be available, subject to availability, with useful gadgets to help make your home more energy efficient.

NEP is proud to be supporting My Nottingham and YES Energy Solutions in delivering the Warm Homes Local Grant scheme, helping local households access support to make their homes warmer, more comfortable and more energy efficient. We'll be there on the Wednesday and Friday! 👋

And yes... while an energy advice van might seem a little unexpected at the beach, with the ongoing heatwaves this summer, there’s never a bad time to talk about making your home more comfortable! ☀️🏠
