✨ NACCC was pleased to partner with the Ministry of Justice UK for a recent online Local Family Justice Board awareness event focused on strengthening support pathways for families through child contact centres.
The event brought together more than 150 attendees, including magistrates, judges, family justice professionals, and NACCC-accredited members, to explore how strong local partnerships and effective referral routes can help families access timely, child-focused support during separation.
NACCC CEO Elizabeth Coe presented alongside NACCC-accredited members Buzz Sheffield and Tiny Hearts, showcasing the diversity of services delivered across NACCC’s network and the important role child contact centres play in supporting children to maintain safe family relationships.
Topics included:
🔹 Strengthening local links with mediators, solicitors, Cafcass practitioners, domestic abuse services, and community organisations
🔹 Reducing delays and improving referral pathways for families
🔹 The Judicial Protocol and the importance of early, collaborative intervention
🔹 NACCC’s Find a Centre Tool and improving access to accredited services
🔹 Specialist, sensory-informed support for children with additional needs
🔹 Holistic, whole-family and trauma-informed approaches to supporting family time
🔹 Highlighting differences between Supported and Supervised child contact services
Buzz shared its community hub approach for separated families, highlighting how practitioners identify wider support needs during family time and help parents access local services including parenting programmes, domestic abuse support, mental health services, and family transition support. Their presentation reinforced the importance of providing holistic support for families and creating welcoming spaces where parents and children can access help beyond contact arrangements alone.
Tiny Hearts, Ilford highlighted its specialist sensory-informed approach for children with autism, ADHD, anxiety, and additional needs, demonstrating how adaptive environments and trauma-aware practice can help children feel safe and supported during family time.
A huge thank you to Buzz and Tiny Hearts for delivering such insightful presentations and helping to showcase the breadth, innovation, and impact of services provided through NACCC-accredited centres ⭐️
