It’s our privilege to help.”
Around 700 people gathered with us tonight. Thank you for choosing to honour the departed in the gentlest ways — through flowers, silence, and simply being here together.
May those who left us be free from pain and fear, and rest in peace.
May their families, in the midst of unimaginable sorrow, be held by love and support.
May those still missing return safely soon.
And may the injured recover quickly.
From the Hongkongers in Nottingham, we offer our deepest and most sincere condolences. 🙏🏻
The past few days have been a race against time, and we are truly grateful to every volunteer for your tireless help.
Thank you to the church for opening its hall to us — and to the person in charge who even came to attend, saying, “It’s our privilege to help.”
We are also thankful to Pastor To for leading us in hymns, Scripture reading, and prayer, giving many people a place to gently rest their grief, even if just for a moment.
Tonight, it wasn’t only Hongkongers standing together. Local residents also came to pay their respects. In addition, several fire fighters from Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service made a special trip to lay flowers.
On this land far from home, we witnessed something profound — sorrow can run deep, but so can the compassion of people.
May we continue to lift one another up.
May love be stronger than fear.
And may light break through the darkness. 🕯️💛
