3rd Woodthorpe Scout Group

11/10/2026

As if you haven't been spammed by us enough this evening, its been a very busy weekend of activities for many of our young people - ably facilitated by our ever giving team of volunteers.

We entered 3 teams into Night Owl at Sherbrooke Scout Campsite
We entered a team of 7 cubs into Oligopoly around Nottingham city centre.
We entered a raft of young people into the Cyclocross, again held at Sherbrooke Scout Campsite.
Congratulations to 1st Gedling Scout Group on your win.

Phew, checking my watch, yes...its w**e o'clock

We are very privileged to be in the company of superb volunteers from all walks of life, of all ages, of all backgrounds - all are welcome to join the 3W family.

This weekend we celebrated one particular gentleman who will be known to many in Central Notts Scouts district who goes by many names; Ben's Dad, Georgia's Grandad, Akela, Firestarter, Pyromaniac, Lawrence's carer - among many other unprintable monikers.
We prefer Tony Danvers.
Tony received the very prestigious Bar to the Award of Merit this weekend.
Well done Tony from all your 3W family ###

Things have been a little quiet over the summer but we are BACK.
Our Scouts and some of our cubs got the chance to not only go to the National Space Centre - they also got to sleep there.
What a start to this term.
3W - this is what we do!

Morning all,
If you are down for a cycling slot today you have the option to duck out.
Through a Herculean effort we are nearing Lands End so to avoid you cycling into sea if you wish can you message us to cancel please do.

Extra 10 points if you can tell us which sea you would cycle into off Lands End.
