Mega Community Litter Picking Operation Held in Radford Ward On 13 September 2025 👇

Radford Ward witnessed a powerful display of community spirit as ZUFA Connects, in partnership with the Minhaj Welfare Foundation (MWF) and Ward Councillor Fozia Mubashar, jointly organised a Mega Community Litter Picking Operation.

The large-scale campaign brought together local residents, volunteers, and families alongside special partners — Mr. Nathan from Clean Champions, Nottingham City Council, and the Community Police, who actively participated in the clean-up.

The event aimed not only to clear litter from the streets but also to raise awareness among residents, particularly within new and emerging communities, about the importance of environmental protection. By sensitising people to the value of clean surroundings, the organisers hope to encourage lasting change in attitudes towards pollution and waste management.

Councillor Fozia Mubashar praised the initiative, emphasising that such efforts strengthen community bonds and inspire civic pride. Mr. Nathan, representing Clean Champions, reaffirmed Nottingham City Council’s commitment to supporting grassroots action that improves neighbourhoods. The Community Police also expressed their support, noting that clean and safe environments go hand-in-hand in building stronger communities.

Volunteers and organisers underlined that litter picking campaigns are not just one-off events, but part of a broader mission to reduce pollution, improve public spaces, and enhance the overall quality of life in Radford Ward.

Through teamwork, dedication, and shared responsibility, this campaign has set a shining example of what can be achieved when communities, organisations, and local authorities come together with a united vision.

📍 A Special Visit from MP Lilian Greenwood

We were honoured to welcome MP for South Nottingham, Lilian Greenwood, to Zufa Connects, a community-led voluntary organisation committed to empowering individuals and communities through education, training, and consultancy, delivered with a holistic approach.

During her visit, we presented a detailed overview of our completed, ongoing, and future projects, highlighting the impact we’re making within the community — all while working with limited resources.

MP Greenwood was genuinely surprised and impressed by the breadth of our work and the deep community engagement we’ve fostered.

We were also pleased to highlight the active involvement and ongoing collaboration of Councillor 👉Fozia Mubashar whose support has been instrumental in driving forward our shared vision for community development and empowerment.
