SATURDAY OUTREACH -

We started our night a little early this evening. A couple of our friends who struggle with the crowds were keen to eat so we sorted them out with bits we had brought with us and a quick drink.

We had loads of food from Pret tonight, so much the trolley was overflowing! There was quite a large crowd waiting for us at Debenhams but they were in good spirits and happy to chat and wait to give everyone time to pick their favourite sandwich.

It took a while and more kept coming so we were still there at 7.00! Once everyone was sorted and happy we set off on our walk about.

The city was noisy with groups watching the football and stag and hen parties adding the the Saturday night revelry but it was a happy atmosphere.

We met up with 10-15 more of our guys on the walk around, taking the time to check in with the familiar faces, and we were so late most people had been for the hot food at the top of the market and moved on by the time we made it.

We chatted with the few stragglers and ensured they had enough food before packing the rest up to drop off at Hinde house.

A busy Saturday evening. Everyone we saw was grateful for a drink and many enjoyed the cola we had, a welcome treat on a hot day.

Thanks to the Saturday team - Sean in charge, Daniel on drinks and Nikki and Sam with food. Another successful night.

Please donate if you can www.norfolkhomelesssupport.co.uk

After a stifling hot day in Norwich yesterday, the city was relatively quiet and calm. Keith and Jane were enjoying a well earned break, so the team was Heather and her daughter, Maria, myself and my husband, Larry. We had masses of food as well as hot and cold drinks, so plenty for everyone.
I spent some time with one of our pals who was really quite distressed, but was able to pass on to him some useful information he didn't have. He left us much more positive thankfully.
We met very few of our pals around the city...Tuesday nights are so very different from noisy, clubbing Saturday nights...but just meeting up with a few guys makes it worthwhile. We left food and drink with one chap who was really unaware of our presence, but was otherwise OK. He was clearly hungry as he took the food we left near him.
Back at city hall, we met up with People's Picnic who were serving hot food and Sean, who was back from his break.

Good morning all,

A lot has been happening behind the scenes the last few months, and our latest newsletter is now live.

If anyone would like it, please send us a message with your email address, and we will send it across, or you can pick a copy up from our main shop inside the Dixon shopping centre.

After a lot of thought and meetings we have decided to close our clothes shop and move back In to our main shop.

The last few months have been very hard, and we have seen a decline in shoppers due to the cost of living and with everyone's bills going up.

We have no plans to leave from the Dixon shopping centre the last three years we have built a community and now help over 100 people every week from our food and clothing bank, outreach sessions and our advice line.

I will be taking a step back from the Norfolk Homeless support shop and focusing on my private business to make sure my future is set up.

When I set up Norfolk Homeless Support, i always said I would never take a wage and build a team that holds the same values as me, and that's what we have done and will carry on doing.

While I will not be involved in the day to day running of the shops I can still be contacted through here or you can email me [email protected]

The team taking over the rains of the shops will be announced soon and I'm very proud of the team we have built and can't thank everyone enough for what there do for the community.

If you can please make a donation directly through gofund.me me with this link https://gofund.me/10004dd28 or directly through our website www.norfolkhomelesssupport.co.uk

You can also set up a monthly donation from only £2 a month through our website less than a coffee in the city.

Norwich most certainly is a fine city when the weather is great, there is no aggro....anywhere!...and the company is fun!
We only took cold drinks out last night and they were well received because of the heat....just didn't take enough of them! Thankfully we had masses of food and were able to take our left overs to Hinde House.
We picked up a new volunteer whilst walking round and hope that he will join the team soon.
If you would also like to join us, even just once a month or an as needed basis, please dm us. It doesn't have to be every week, we know that's a big commitment, but especially with the summer season, it can be hard to cover holidays...
It's nearly always fun, sometimes unbelievably sad, but being part of a team means you are supported and on nights like last night, we laughed our way round the city. Believe it or not, we were counting hen and stag parties! The score if you are interested was 3 hen, 1 stag.
Thanks Adele, Sam and Nikki. Lorraine xx
