Did you know 2026 is UN Volunteers International Volunteer Year?

As this week also marks and the start of Voluntary Norfolk Festival of Volunteering, throughout June we'll be introducing some of the incredible volunteers who help make New-U and our wider community work possible.

First up is Linda, the careers Lead at a local SEND school, who generously gives her time to support our upcycling and craft activities. Whether she's helping people learn new skills, get creative, or build confidence, her enthusiasm and encouragement make a real difference.

💙 One day, two great events, and lots of community impact!

Yesterday, our £1 Pre-loved Clothing and Accessories Sale welcomed shoppers searching for their next great find, while across the city at the Norwich Puppet Theatre we joined the .ourpower community events proving craft activities alongside .

From giving clothes a second chance to transforming unwearable textiles into beautiful handmade flowers, it was a fantastic day of creativity, community, and circular fashion in action.

Thank you to everyone who shopped, crafted, chatted, and supported us throughout the day. Every item reused and every scrap repurposed makes a difference. 💙✨

Thanks to the generous support of the Nichol-Young Foundation, we’ve been able to give the Honesty Library a mini makeover.

We’ve added new window stickers and comfy new chairs so you can relax and enjoy this welcoming community space even more. 📚💛

Come along, take a seat, and browse, borrow, or buy books kindly donated by other members of the community.
