💙 What an absolutely amazing week this has been. 💙
With Mega Day behind us and our final big evening together coming to an end tonight, I just wanted to take a moment to say a massive THANK YOU to every single person who has joined us and helped make the East Anglia UK Mega 2026 what it has been.
We're not quite finished yet! We still have our Auction tomorrow and our Au Revoir on Monday, so there are still a couple more chances to get together before we finally say goodbye.
But tonight feels like the right time to say this...
From those who travelled hundreds of miles, to those who popped in for an event, found a few caches, volunteered their time, helped behind the scenes, joined us for the evenings, or simply stopped us for a chat and a laugh – thank you.
It has honestly been an incredible week and one that I know none of us on the committee will ever forget.
So, from all of us – Scott, Dawn, Alison, Sarah, Richard and, of course, Peter – thank you for putting your trust in us and coming along for the ride.
There have been months and years of planning behind this week. There have been stressful moments, late nights, countless messages, meetings, changes of plans and probably more than a few moments where we wondered what on earth we'd got ourselves into! 😂
But looking back at what we've all achieved together, it was worth every single bit of it.
Because we don't do this for us. We do it for you – the Geocaching community.
That's what all of this has always been about.
Seeing people meeting old friends, making new ones, laughing together, sharing stories, heading out caching and simply enjoying being part of this brilliant community is what makes all the hard work worthwhile.
You're all amazing.
And you've made this week what it was just as much as we have.
If anyone reading this is ever thinking about taking on something like this themselves, I'd say grab it with both hands and go for it.
Yes, it's a huge amount of work. Yes, at times it'll completely take over your life. But the people you meet, the friendships you make and the memories you come away with make it something very special indeed.
And normally, I suppose this would be the point where a page like this starts to go quiet once everything is over...
But we're not quite ready to do that.
East Anglia UK Mega 2026 might be reaching the end of its journey, but this community certainly isn't.
So please stick around and keep following the page.
Over the coming weeks and months, things around here might start looking a little different. The name might change. The pictures might change. And this page might just begin to morph into something new... 👀
After everything we've built together, it seems a shame to simply switch the lights off.
There are more adventures out there.
There are more people to meet.
There are more memories to make.
And who knows...
Perhaps the next adventure might involve a little more treasure. 🏴☠️😉
For now though, from the bottom of our hearts:
Thank you.
Thank you for coming.
Thank you for supporting us.
Thank you to every volunteer who gave up their time.
Thank you to everyone who helped us along the way.
And most importantly, thank you to this incredible Geocaching community.
We've absolutely loved having you here in Norfolk.
From all of us on the committee – thank you for an absolutely amazing Mega week. 💙🦊
And remember...
Don't go anywhere just yet. 👀
