A huge congratulations to the Cornwall team. We cannot wait to see what you have planned.

A little something from the Piratemania armoury…

The Piratemania Coin Cannons are still available to pre-order and they’re certainly one of the more unusual geocoin designs around.

Finished in black nickel and measuring around 7cm long by 0.97cm in diameter, these limited-edition cannons even come complete with wheels.

£20 each
Limited edition
Pre-order only

If you’re a Piratemania fan, a geocoin collector, or simply fancy adding something a little different to your collection, take a look here:

🚨 YORKSHIRE MEGA 2028 – THE VENUE IS REVEALED! 🚨

The secret is finally out…

Yorkshire Mega 2028 is heading to DRiffield Showground in East Yorkshire!

What a location for the 2028 UK Mega!

Plenty of space, a fantastic setting and, most importantly, Yorkshire as the backdrop for what promises to be one heck of a Mega gathering.

The Yorkshire team have been working away behind the scenes and now we finally know where we’ll all be heading in 2028.

The countdown suddenly feels a little more real!

Who’s already looking at the map and planning the trip?

Yorkshire 2028… here we come!

Just a shameless plug for the request for anyone who may be interested in putting on the 2029 UK Mega.

It’s that time of year again, time to think about the UK’s annual Mega 2029. It sounds a long way off but it soon comes around!

So, have you been having conversations on the quiet about putting together a committee to bid for the Mega for your area? Have you been looking at locations and bouncing ideas around?

We are now open for notes of interest. Please let us know via private message by 9pm on Saturday 3rd October.

At this point, we don’t need anything else. If we receive more than 1 note of interest, we will proceed to the next phase which is submitting proposal documentation. We can guide you through and answer any questions you may have then.

Everything will remain confidential until an official announcement is made.

For transparency, we have already been contacted by 1 interested committee.

We look forward to hearing from you

COMMUNITY SHOUT-OUT

This one isn’t a Mega Event, but we thought it was well worth giving a little extra push.

The Cache & Craic Team are collecting donations to help provide FREE chocolate selection boxes for children visiting Santa at their Cache & Craic III – Santa’s Stash event in December.

Any selection boxes left over after the event will be shared between the Newarthill Santa Run and Helping Hands Lanarkshire’s Christmas Gift Drive.

If you’d like to help them fill Santa’s sack, they’re looking for donations of selection boxes — or other suitable donations.

Cache & Craic III – Santa’s Stash
GCBPC8V
Sunday 6th December 2026
11:00–15:00
Holy Family Church Hall
57 Hope Street, Mossend, Bellshill, ML4 1QA

Donations can be dropped off at the Cache & Craic stall at Bathgate Market & Car Boot Sale on Saturday 10th October.

For other arrangements:
[email protected]

A lovely bit of community spirit, so if you’re local and able to help, please give them a shout.

Sometimes it’s not about the size of the event — it’s about what the community can do together.

⛺ CAMPING OPENS TODAY!

If you’ve been waiting to book your place for the week linking Piratemania 19 and West Midlands Mega 2027, today is the day.

Bookings open at 11am.

And while it may be one week of camping, your booking helps support TWO UK Mega events.

🏴‍☠️ Piratemania 19
🎉 West Midlands Mega 2027

That means one campsite, one week away and two Mega teams being supported along the way.

Plenty of geocaching.
Plenty of community.
And, judging by the comments already, possibly a concerning amount of rum.

11AM TODAY.

Two Megas.
One camping week.
One very good reason to start planning 2027.

What is Piratemania? Piratemania is the UK’s biggest annual pirate-themed geocaching gathering and one of the longest-running themed Mega Events in the geocaching community. It combines camping, geocaching, pirate-themed entertainment, and a welcoming social atmosphere for geocachers of all ages! ...

Before anyone starts feeling left out… 👀

Yes, we’ve been making a lot of noise about Piratemania 19 and West Midlands Mega 2027 recently.

There’s a good reason for that — with the camping linking the two events, there’s plenty to shout about at the moment!

BUT…

This page is here to support ALL of our upcoming UK Mega events.

📍 London Calling 2027 — GCBJK18

🏴‍☠️ Piratemania 19 — GCBV1K5

🎉 West Midlands Mega 2027 — GC code TBA

🌹 Yorkshire Mega 2028 — GC code TBA

Different events.
Different teams.
Different parts of the country.

But one very big geocaching community behind them all.

So if one Mega gets a little more attention for a few days because something is happening, don’t worry — we haven’t forgotten anybody.

There’s plenty more shouting, sharing and general Mega-related nonsense still to come. 😁

Because the more we support our UK Megas, the better they all become.

And frankly…

We need MORE excuses to spend weekends wandering around fields looking for Tupperware.

A whole lot of geocaching in between.
