There has been some exciting activity at Brewster Court recently! With support from the UK Government's Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund, we’ve been working with Power Different Ltd to install solar panels on rooftops across the site.
We’re already seeing impressive results: thanks to that sunny spell in the last week of May, the first phase of the project (1/3 of the site) generated enough energy to power the average home for a whole year!
For our Trustee Andrew Verney, who has been spearheading the project, the benefits are many: “The installation is helping us create a more sustainable, energy efficient community at Brewster Court. It will also make a tangible difference for our residents: warmer homes, lower bills and greater peace of mind.”
Brewster Court resident Marian Watts agrees. “We will be able to cook and heat our own homes and not be subject to the vagaries of power price surges. It can only be good for the environment and for the generations to come. I’m so excited.”
