The #Barford Social

30/11/2024

Hi all, so we felt like we should put something out about NYE as we’ve had a few questions.

We started the Barford Social to bring the village together when we had no pub, trying to recreate a heartbeat of the village. We’ve loved the years bringing you some amazing food, booze and music but post Covid freedom meant dwindling numbers so we reduced the amount of events we put on.

The last event we put on didn’t bring the numbers we expected and for the first time since we started, we lost money! That means no money for our nominated charities, and despite the hard work of the few that always turn up to put the event on, it felt really disappointing.

So, we’ve decided that this New Years Eve we’re having the year off. This isn’t the end of the but it is for this year! We hope you have a great Christmas and New Year and we’ll see you all next year!

First half marathon tomorrow and 9 of you beautiful people have already donated for my chosen charity Community Sports Foundation. What would really help keep me going tomorrow would be if I can get some more donations before I cross the start line!

Having never run a half marathon I thought I’d better get one booked in…and it just so happens to be this Sunday! I’m also running Run Norwich 2024 and, if I raise enough money, I’ll do the Norfolk Half Marathon as well! I’ve been training hard clocking up 174.1 miles since April!

It’s for a great local cause so please give what you can!
