Positive Minds is a free event bringing young people, families, professionals and communities together.

Come along for free activities, food, fun and the chance to connect with others. Find out what’s happening in your area for young people, explore future career opportunities, and speak with local organisations and professionals about the support available to you.

It’ll be a safe and welcoming space for young people to be themselves, meet new people, and discover opportunities across Norfolk.

Whether you’re a young person, parent, friend or professional, there’s something for everyone at Positive Minds.

Drowning Prevention Week: As we head towards the summer holidays, we want to make sure everyone understands how to stay safe in, on, and around water. 🌊

Norfolk is surrounded by water — from our coastline and rivers to the Broads, lakes, and harbours. While these environments offer fantastic opportunities for fun and learning, they also bring real risks. Make sure to follow any signage around bodies of water, and if you do get into trouble, remember the 4 steps from the RNLI:

1. Stop and Think
2. Stay Together
3. Float
4. Call 999 or 112

Last night, our young commissioners teamed up with Women’s Cycling Safety Audit - Norwich to look at safety and cycling in Broadland and Norwich. Young people mapped out where they felt safe and unsafe and discussed barriers and solutions to cycling in their local area 🚴🏼🚴

FUNDING OPPORTUNITY! 🎉

Broadland YAB have funding of up to £750 available for organisations who would like to deliver free activities for young people.

This funding will support projects that give young people aged 11-19 (up to 25 for SEND) in Broadland access to varying activities and clubs. ⚽🎨

We are open to indoor and outdoor activities, which are either a series or a one off.

Yesterday, Nicole from Family Hubs came along and asked for our help with designing a flyer for their summer activities. We brainstormed ideas that we had, and created a draft, as well as some draft text for them to swap out if needed!

The Family Hubs are holding summer sessions for families and young people in various different places across the summer. Get in touch with them to find out more. 🔆

Another fantastic YAB Day done! ✅

Part 1 of today brought the YABs together to contribute to the Children’s Society’s Good Childhood research programme, discussing the factors that influence children’s wellbeing today and helping guide future legislation and support available for young people.🌻

The Young Commissioners then went on a tour of Carrow Road, getting to see behind the scenes of this historic stadium. ⚽
