This is Hans and he arrived on 14th August after being found out in the day.
After 3 days in rescue, he wasn't showing anything to be concerned about and nothing was found in his poo 💩 sample.I suspect he was out 'splooting' , trying to keep cool , on a rather warm day .
As there was no reason to keep him in rescue and cause him un necessary stress , he was released back with the finder.
Thanks to the finder for making sure he was ok 😁

Little Horace junior arrived on 8th August and weighed only 58g!

Extremely skinny and dehydrated 😞

His time was spent in an incubator to keep him warm and was given fluids and food in very small amounts every 2 hours .

He was with me for just over 2 days and gained a little (up to 80g), but it was too big of a fight for his little body 😓

Thankyou to the finders for bringing him to me and although it wasn't a happy ending, we were able to give him some comfort x

Well .... He gained his freedom on 7th August 🎉

He spent 46 days here at Hodge Lodge and as well as his wound, he was treated for Lungworm, Fluke , CAP (Roundworm) and also Coccidia

Arriving at 925g and leaving at 1089g

Here he is looking rather lovely 😍 ... Look at that sweep of hair/ spines!

Another on 4th August was little Howard weighing only 124g.

Unfortunately he had already passed but with each life being so precious, I still wish to post about him .

Thankyou to the finders for going above and beyond trying to help him, you did all you could. Giving him comfort in his final hours meant he could die safe and free from harm .

A quiet and tidy guest , this is the only picture I've been able to get (but that's good in a way!)

Hope was found out in the day and although she 'looked' ok ... Poo 💩 sample showed Cap (Roundworm) , Fluke and Lungworm. Thankyou to the finders for scooping her up and getting her to me.

My apologies for the lack of posts.... It's been non stop and with the heat too it's been a nightmare 😰

I've quite a few updates on Hedgehogs that have been in my care so lots of posts on the way !

Both are receiving treatment and currently weigh 225g and 175g

Who is very camera shy 🫣

Arriving at 252g he was underweight, dehydrated and very hungry ... He gained over 90g the first night!
Poo samples have been clear so far and fingers crossed it continues
