For this week's streams I'm going to be taking on some of the special challenges and high-score competitions that have been set for AMIGAugust. Glory is on offer for those who rack up the points and do well, so in a mix of classic games, terrible games and those that are just plain obscure, there's plenty to check out and hopefully play to my strengths on some of them. Come and see how well I do and offer moral support if you like as the likes of Virocop, Slam Tilt and Robocod get an airing...

Tonight, AMIGAugust continues with my next look at the coverdisks of Amiga Format magazine. Having already completed the brief ST/Amiga Format run and started to make headway into AF itself, we reach the early stages of 1990 and the early stages of the mag's life. It's largely just one coverdisk per issue for this period and it's a mix of game demos, utilities, artwork and even some programming tutorials - in this instance, a month-by-month look at building up a playable level of Menace from DMA Design. Who's joining me for a crash course (with the emphasis on 'crash') in assembly language programming? Come and see how this works out...

Still recovering from Kickstart at the weekend. What a fantastic weekend had by all - thanks to all who came by for a chat and to check out our display. Also a big congrats to Amiga Belfast for winning our Worms tournament which was arranged by Gideon, securing the Holy Hand Gr***de trophy (made by our very own Pete) and a copy of the original Worms signed by Andy Davidson himself!

Let's do it all again sometime eh?

Join us for day two of Kickstart and come and help yourselves to FREE NAG TAT! Keyrings, stickers, coins - you name it (as long as it's these three things) you can have it. Oh and a disk with our NAG demo too.

Here are some pics from our recent meet at Albion Games Cafe. As you can see there was a lot going on and it was a busy one. It was great to see so many people there and some good variety in setups too. It certainly felt like a good time was had by all and it was good to catch up with so many people as well as meet some new attendees.

Big thanks to the Cafe for hosting us and the 25 people who attended. See you on 6th September for the next one!

AMIGAugust has begun (or as I call it... August) and we kick off with a fond, final look at Amiga games from 1995. We've still got a few loose ends to tidy up, the occasional classic and one or two perhaps less well-known titles too, this time mostly AGA-based. After this we'll start the final year in this long-running series and 1996 will make this one look vintage, trust me (spoiler alert).

It might have been long past the Amiga's heyday, but there's still plenty left to see before we wind this one down, so do drop by and have a look at what the Amiga gaming public were interested in at this point (what remained of them, anyway).
