‘Bridges’ is a well-established service that has been running in Norwich for over 30 years, most recently under the direction of St Martins, which hold sessions at their training centre on Westwick Street over three days every week.
The service is designed to improve social inclusion, and increase confidence and self-awareness through a variety of proactive recovery interventions. This involves one-to-one and group support from qualified team members who assist people on specific issues and help them set personal goals.
An important aspect of Bridges is increased engagement in social activities and confidence building. People who attend Bridges take part in activities such as cooking, art, snooker and music therapy and there are regular outings, including history walks, trips to the beach and museums. All the members of Bridges are over 18 and referred by a support worker, their GP or another health professional.
