🚨 Mentorship Opportunities 🚨

Nepalese Doctors Association UK (NDA UK) is organising a mentorship programme for all Core Specialty Trainee (CST) who are planning and preparing for Higher Specialty Training (HST). A proper 6month - 12 month mentor-mentee guidance for good outcomes, timely meetings and updates. An opportunity for mentors to get leadership portfolio and for mentees to get 1st hand advice from the ones who’ve already done it!

Nepalese Doctors' Association UK MAKES HISTORY BY DONATING OVER 1 CRORE NRS TO PM DISASTER RELIEF FUND IN NEPAL ON 12.10.2026.

Today, Chair of NDA Trustees Dr Arati Thapa made a donation in excess of of 1 crore to PM disaster fund on behalf of NDA U.K. to the Rt Hon Finance Minister Mr Swarnim Wagle, attended by MP Mrs Vidhusi Rana.
Full Members Dr Lok Kathayat and Dr Amita Thapa were also present during the handover.
NDA Treasurer Dr Ravi Pant facilitated the transfer of the funds to HBL Nepal.
The Trustees of NDAUK, would like to thank all the donors, fundraisers,individual event hosts, NDA members ,family , friends, our well wishers, other professional Organisations and current Executive committee for their support.
Special mention to Dr Numa Thebe,Founder of Swasthiya Chiya with Kailash momo for the Charity dinner in Welling, British Association of indian Anaesthetists and and Ms J Morris for donating over 2 K.
Dr Arati Thapa also presented Mr Swarnim Wagle with NDA souvenirs and told him about its history of NDA as a 41year old Professional organisation which also became a charity in 2016. The organisation had won donor confidence and credibility to raise such large sum of donation.
NDA’s First donation to PM Disaster fund was 11 lakh
We aim to make a 3rd Donation in near future.

Fundraising events for Nepal

On 3rd and 4th October 2026,NDA UK Chair and Trustee Dr Arati Thapa had the privilege of representing NDA at two separate events in support of those affected by the devastating floods in Nepal.

Thank you to BAOIA – British Association of Indian Anaesthetists for inviting as Guest of Honour in Birmingham,alongside Dr Peeyush Kumar President of BAOIA, Dr Sarah Thornton, Vice President of the Royal College of Anaesthetists, and Mr Rakesh Tiwari from the Indian Embassy. and many other distinguished guests.A minute’s silence was observed in memory of those who lost their lives, followed by an upcoming generous contribution to our JG fundraising page.
Dr Shabin Joshi,Consultant Neurosurgeon and our Life member,facilitated this.

Update on Health Education and Awareness Day, Ashford, Kent.

On Saturday 26 September, 104 members of our community joined us at Saint Simon Stock Church for HEAP 2026. It was jointly delivered by the Nepalese Doctors Association UK, the Gurkha Peace Foundation and the Sagarmatha Gurkha Nepalese Community, Ashford.

🩺 17 specialist advice stations, from orthopaedics, rheumatology and ENT to women's health, paediatrics, dental, resuscitation, and breast cancer and stoma care awareness
❤️ Free health advice and awareness
🧠 Interactive talks on dementia and autism
🗣️ An open discussion on our elders' struggles to access NHS care, and a reminder that NHS interpreters are free for all
📋 A community health survey to build the evidence for real change

🌱 Our young radiography and A-level students, who carry community care into the next generation
🏃 13 yr old A Shrestha, whose 5K run in June helped raise funds to pay for the hall

We hosted another highly engaging session in our Medical Masterclass series today. Dr Sangam Sharma (ST6, Respiratory Medicine) presented a succinct and clinically relevant case on acute breathlessness, highlighting key diagnostic considerations.

This was followed by Dr Sudhir Lohani, Consultant Respiratory Physician, who provided an excellent evidence‑based overview of the management of the various causes of acute breathlessness.

The session was highly interactive, generating thoughtful questions and lively discussion from attendees.

We extend our sincere thanks to both speakers for their valuable contributions.
