“A riveting example of ensemble theatre at its very best.” ★★★★★

Conn Artists Theatre Company in association with Theatre Royal Wi******er: Part of Play to the Crowd present Charlotte Brontë's Jane Eyre. Adapted by Nick Young & Ross Muir.

Orphaned…Oppressed…Unbreakable.

Jane Eyre’s fight for freedom, happiness and a sense of belonging, blazes from the cruelty of her childhood to the creepy corridors of Thornfield Hall, where she discovers passion, dark secrets, and a love that overcomes every obstacle.

Charlotte Brontë’s gothic romance, swept against the backdrop of the Yorkshire moors, with a haunting atmosphere and unforgettable emotion, tells a story of independence, resilience, and the courage to follow one’s heart.

Thrillingly brought to life in a new staging by Conn Artists Theatre Company, following on from their recent adaptation of Far from the Madding Crowd, and performed with an ensemble cast of five actors with original music and songs.

Do you want to do something exciting during the Christmas period?

Do you love theatre?

Do you love being part of a show but can’t commit to every rehearsal or performance over the busy Christmas period?

Do you love being on stage but don’t want to learn lines?

If the answer is yes to ANY of the above, we may have what you’re looking for. We welcome interest from anyone who is curious and willing to learn.

This year the Norwich Players’ Christmas family production at the Maddermarket Theatre is cult classic The Box of Delights. This ambitious amateur production features puppetry, magic, shadow play and all manner of theatrical trickery. To make it work we need an amazing stage team to cover rehearsals and fifteen performances between them.

Our ambition is to have a small team of Assistant Stage Managers responsible for fluid, costumed, on-stage and off-stage transitions. We plan to have a team of around four or 5 ASM’s who will share the responsibility of running scene changes, puppet and props management back stage across the run. We need at least two per show. The more involved you can be in rehearsals the better but there is no expectation of being there every rehearsal or every performance (unless you want to).

This role would suit actors who haven’t got a Christmas project, people interested in stage-management and want to build their confidence, those interested in puppets and anyone who wants to be part of something magical this Christmas

We are also looking for a committed Stage Manager and Deputy Stage Manager, preferably with some experience. Get in touch! Contact [email protected].
