Don't let the kids have all the fun! An actor of any gender, (aged 18+) who could play a twelve year old boy is needed for the Maddermarket Theatre’s Christmas family production of The Box of Delights (unpaid) in Norwich.

Peter is a sensible child who finds himself caught up in his friend Kay's perilous and magical adventures. The ability to connect with your inner child mentally and physically is more important than appearance.

JACK THORNE’S HISTORICAL DRAMA ABOUT THE BBC AND STAYING IMPARTIAL DURING HARD TIMES 🎭

When Winston Went To War With The Wireless is an exciting and fast-paced dramatisation of the power play between the UK government and the broadcaster.

Directed by Ginny Porteous and performed by a cast with a wealth of talent; expect to be transported back to 1920s Britain for a thrilling production that still holds importance today.

WHEN WINSTON WENT TO WAR WITH THE WIRELESS 🎙️🎭

John Reith built an institution - the BBC - Winston Churchill wanted a weapon. A war for the ‘truth’ begins! 100 years on, Jack Thorne’s play explores their tense standoff during the 1926 General Strike. With printing presses silenced, the fledgling British Broadcasting Company led by Reith becomes the nation's only source of news. Churchill demands the BBC becomes a government mouthpiece so Reith is forced to choose between his vision of impartiality and the very existence of his institution.

Fully-costumed passages 'tragical, comical, historical, pastoral' will make the perfect end-of-summer treat.

Mad About the Musicals — Audition Notice!

Auditions will take place on Sunday 6th September, between 10am and 2pm, with 15-minute audition slots.

Performance dates: Friday 9th October 19:30, Saturday 10th October 14:30 and 19:30

Do you love musical theatre? Do you enjoy singing, performing and bringing great musical numbers to life? Then we’d love to hear from you!

Mad About the Musicals will be a celebration of the very best of musical theatre, featuring songs and performances from across the world of stage and screen. The show will be performed as a fundraiser for the Maddermarket Theatre.

We are looking for enthusiastic performers who are passionate about musical theatre and would love the opportunity to be part of this exciting production.

Please prepare one song of your choice. Backing tracks should be provided by the auditionee, or you are welcome to perform unaccompanied.

THE CRUCIBLE CASTING CALL-OUT FOR MEN WITH A PLAYING AGE OF 45 - 65+

Director Joe Seeney is on the search for two actors to play the following roles…

Giles Corey: An elderly but feisty farmer in Salem, famous for his tendency to file lawsuits. Giles’s wife, Martha, is accused of witchcraft, and he himself is eventually held in contempt of court and pressed to death with large stones.

Francis Nurse: A wealthy, influential man in Salem. Nurse is well respected by most people in Salem, but he is an enemy of Thomas Putnam and his wife.

PERFORMANCE DATES: Wednesday 11th - Sunday 15th November. REHEARSAL DATES from: 6th September, 2026.

NORWICH PLAYERS THEATRE COMPANY INVITE YOU TO OUR 2027 SEASON LAUNCH 🎭

Everyone is invited to the Norwich Players Theatre Company’s 2027 season launch which will be held at the Maddermarket Theatre on:
SUNDAY 6th SEPTEMBER from 2pm - 4pm in the theatre bar (Bar open from 1.30pm).

Come and find out which shows are planned for next year and hear the directors talk about their production ideas and offer notes on acting and crewing opportunities. Audition, rehearsal and performance times will also be given.

Should you be unable to attend the launch, all the details will be posted on the theatre website shortly afterwards.

THE JERSEY BEATS - OH WHAT A NITE! tour coming to the Maddermarket soon!

It’s the show night out not to be missed – wowing crowds in Blackpool since 2014, and now touring the country – OH WHAT A NITE! is a different style of tribute show to any other that you will have seen or heard of before.

Matt Andrew leads our vocal quartet as our tribute to Frankie Valli – telling the story of the band and how they formed the group which took them to the dizzy heights of television appearances, fame and fortune… all performed alongside an amazing trio of vocal talent – Johnny, Michael and Toby who take the roles of Nick Massey, Bob Guadio and Tommy Devito

Comedy host Leye D Johns can’t be kept away from the stage for too long either, bringing a light hearted flavour to proceedings and ensuring the crowd leave with a big smile on their face.

The show also has a way of bringing current hits to life too, with that same Doo W*p style – again making OH WHAT A NITE! different to any tribute show you’ll ever see!

Let the boys take you back to the era when hit song, after hit song had ‘The Four Seasons’ famous around the World.
