It was inspirational to hear from Adrian Ramsay MP this week.

The co-leader of the Green Party told us about his time at UEA, and his path into politics, culminating in leading the Green Party to their most successful ever electoral victory.

We discussed green policy, nuclear energy, Ukraine, and life before politics. Students asked challenging and difficult questions, and were given insightful answers.

Thank you for everyone who came along. A huge thank you to from everyone at UEA PolSoc and students at UEA!

In case you missed it, thanks to we were able to film the event. This should be up on our YouTube in the coming weeks.

This month we recognise those in politics who have overcome their disability to bring real change to their communities, country, and the world.

We have focused on two people, Franklin D. Roosevelt and David Blunkett. Both men rose to the highest corridors of power. Blunkett helped shape the domestic policy of New Labour’s Britain. Roosevelt built modern day America and pushed for the construction of the international order which we live in today.

Alongside these giants, there are many others in politics who have made great process for the rights of disabled individuals. Yet, the fight for progress continued.
