👏It was a pleasure to join fellow VCSE organisations from across Sunderland for the Sunderland Black & Racially Minoritised Community Anchor CoLab listening sessions, facilitated by 👏

Over the 3 sessions, we shared experiences, discussed local priorities, & explored how we can strengthen support for Black & Racially Minoritised communities through collaboration, partnership & community-led action.

Was brilliant to contribute alongside our friends from the sector & share & learn everyone’s ideas & perspectives. Absolutely inspiring to be part of a sector that is passionate about creating lasting, positive change & collaboratively we believe that our communities are stronger when we work together.

Looking forward to work together with Anchors 👏

💻 🎨 What an incredible journey it’s been at the Gen D Digital Youth Hub! 🚀✨ Over the past few months, our young people have explored the exciting world of digital creativity, building confidence, learning new skills & expressing themselves through digital art.

Together, they:
🎨 Designed & customised their own vehicles
🖋️ Learned creative typography by transforming images into text
🎬 Took their first steps into animation using Adobe After Effects
⚽ Explored timing & movement through bouncing ball animations
🧱 Created pixel art worlds using Mega Voxels
💡 Designed personalised name artwork that reflected their personalities & interests
📰 Learned the principles of graphic design by creating their own magazine covers & presenting them with confidence to the group

Every session encouraged creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, friendship & presentation skills. It was amazing to watch everyone grow in confidence, support one another & proudly showcase their work in a safe & welcoming space.

To celebrate the end of the project, everyone received a certificate recognising their hard work & dedication, before enjoying pizza together, a well deserved way to celebrate completion of phase 1 of an inspiring programme! 🍕🏆

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, to our brilliant facilitators, tutors & volunteers, & to Susan Dungworth - Northumbria Police & Crime Commissioner
& Sunderland Bangladesh International Centre for supporting young people to discover their creative potential through the Digital Youth Hub. We can’t wait to see what these talented young creators achieve next! 👏We will share more information on Gen D summer holiday sessions on 🙌🏼

✨ We had such a wonderful time at the Sense of Unity event at celebrating community & togethernes🤩🕊️

A huge thank you to Norwich Unity Hub for organising such an inspiring event & inviting Jamal to represent Gen D CIC at the Living Library Q&A. 🎤

It was a privilege to share why the digital art world needs be accessible to everyone, & why communities need more spaces like Carrow House; trusted home where VCSEs can connect, collaborate & grow together. 🤝

Looking forward to the next event 🙌🏼
