I'm really sorry to say that overnight we have either been subject to some extremely keen child readers, or a robbery, in which our almost 20 books and a candle has been stolen.
Just a reminder that a) we have a security camera on our front door that monitors bookshelf activity, and b) the bookshelf is sitting on private property - so taking from it under ill-intent is theft.
I'd like to think that in the morning, the group (yep, too many books to be an individual) realise they've done something wrong, confess to their parents, and return them. So I'll be giving them until 4pm today (after school time) to see things returned before I call the police.
I'm glad people think the reading material in the bookshelf is worth taking, but honestly guys? This is something nice and genuine for the community with no charge, and all that's being done is wastage and creating ill-feeling. It's unnecessary, and frankly, sh*tty. Please do the right thing.
