I’m so grateful to have this little platform where I can share parts of my life and, hopefully, inspire someone along the way! 🫶🏼
Whether that’s through my Slimming World group, the food I eat, the changes I’ve made or, more recently, my running and exercise…I think it’s important to show that none of it happens overnight.
At the beginning of this year, if you’d told me I’d be running Run Norwich, I genuinely wouldn’t have believed you.
A 10k race?! I’d barely managed to build myself back up to 5k!
When I signed up for Run Norwich, I had never actually run 10k. It felt like a huge challenge and definitely something outside of what I thought I was capable of.
And yet today, with two weeks to go, I’ve just run 9 miles.
NINE MILES!! 🤯
There’s a part of me that still can’t quite believe that sentence belongs to me! 🤣
I never thought I’d be someone who ran for enjoyment, signed up for races, followed a training plan or found myself wondering just how far I could go. But confidence grows when you keep proving to yourself that you can do things you once thought you couldn’t.
And I definitely haven’t done it alone.
I’ve had lots of encouragement, some brilliant friends around me and people who have believed in me on the days when I’ve questioned myself.
So yes…in two weeks’ time, we are absolutely doing this!!🏃🏼♀️
I’m proud of the 9 miles today, of course I am. But I think I’m even prouder of the person who kept saying yes to trying something that once felt completely out of reach.
Sometimes your biggest achievements start with simply allowing yourself to believe that maybe, just maybe, you could 💕
