Delighted that our adopted charity, The Glasshouse Botanics are featured in the November issue of Country Living. 🌿

The Glasshouse is a social enterprise that offers women in prison a second chance. Through accredited horticultural training and paid work, women prepare for release with real skills, confidence, and a clear pathway into stable employment. Every plant they supply to London offices is nurtured by women who are rebuilding their lives, and the programme continues to achieve a remarkable 0% reoffending rate.

It's wonderful to see their story reaching a wider audience, and no one deserves the recognition more. We're proud to support The Glasshouse and to keep championing the women at the heart of it.

This Research Work session explores Lukas Pairon's new book The Art of Positive Fatalism – Lessons from Kinshasa, drawn from his research with musicians and community music projects in Kinshasa. Lukas explores positive fatalism, holding uncertainty and limited control alongside a real capacity to respond, improvise, and stay engaged.

He'll be in conversation with John Sloboda and Lucy Green, two hugely respected voices in music, participation and social impact, moderated by Guildhall Principal Jonathan Vaughan. Expect a properly honest look at what participatory music-making can and can't do in contexts of precarity and inequality, plus plenty of room for audience discussion.

This ResearchWorks talk centres on Lukas Pairon's new book, based on years spent researching musicians and community music projects in Kinshasa. His idea of "positive fatalism" is about accepting how little control we sometimes have, while still finding ways to respond, adapt, and keep showing up.

Joining him in conversation are John Sloboda and Lucy Green — two major names in music, participation, and social impact — with Guildhall Principal Jonathan Vaughan moderating. Expect a candid discussion of what music-making can realistically achieve in unequal, precarious settings, with space for the audience to weigh in too.

We are excited to announce that our Adopted Charity The Trojan Women Project are taking to the stage this month at Macrobert Arts Centre, University of Stirling, to share a powerful new production inspired by The Trojan Women. After months of preparation refugees , asylum seekers and local community members will perform a production of their experiences of dispacement, resilience and hope.

Founders Charlotte Eagar and William Stirling came together through a shared love of storytelling — and a conviction that theatre, film and conversation can give asylum seekers and refugees a powerful platform to share their experiences and forge genuine human connection.

We are very proud to have The Trojan Women Project as part of the Prospero World Charity Adoption Programme, and to support Charlotte and William as they continue this vital work.

A full circle moment for Rameez pictured here with Gailyn, founder of which provides literacy support to primary school children in some of the most under-resourced schools in Cape Town. Rameez lives in the Hout Bay Harbour and he was with ABC For Life in Gailyn's Class when he was in Grade 1 - age 6. He is now 20 years old and he is doing his teaching Practical at Sentinel Primary School where he went to school.

We have been a proud supporter of ABC for Life for the past 8 years. We had the opportunity to visit them in Hout Bay and see their work in action. We have been consistently impressed with their methodology and results – and care.
