Hello. Looking forward to seeing you all on Thursday when Angela Bishop will bring her travelling museum to ESH, talking about toys and games of the past🪀🪁.
Also, to celebrate World Food Day on October 16th, please bring in one of your favourite food recipes to share, savoury or sweet 🥘🧁. The plan is to scan them and share them via e-mail, although if anyone wants hard copy we can do that.

At NASWI we celebrated 111 years of The WI by wearing the WI colours to our September meeting...Green, White and Purple. We took photos in 3s and had a great evening with a quiz designed by our lovely Karen. NASWI represents friendship, fun, learning and a place to be ourselves. Phenominal women, that's us! Standing together makes us stronger.

Our August meeting was a guided walk around the magnificent trees of Chapelfield garden and The Jenny Lind Park area. Led by the very knowledgeable James Mendelssohn. James is a tree expert who volunteers regularly at Cambridge University Botanic Garden (knows his stuff!)

JULY 15TH is National Give Something Away Day:
Giving benefits us all. It improves our community and puts much-needed services and assistance within the reach of those who need it most. The giver also benefits. Giving not only makes us feel good but it teaches gratitude, too. Whether we give financially or by offering our skills and services, we lift others up. Our words can be a gift, too. Showing empathy, encouragement, and compassion to someone during a time of need may make us feel vulnerable, but it empowers those we offer it to as well. You can also share your time with others by volunteering.

Most of us have the benefit of having more than we need to live. National Give Something Away Day on July 15 offers us an opportunity to share some of our bounties.

Celebrate GIVE SOMETHING AWAY DAY at our July Meeting:
Every year, on July 15th, people celebrate National Give Something Away Day. It's a day dedicated to the spirit of generosity and kindness. In the UK July 31st is also Friendship Day. So, this month at our July NASWI meeting we have decided to celebrate both days and invite you to bring a wrapped item to give away. Maybe an extra/not needed gift, something you've made, or something you would like to receive yourself. Please wrap it so it is a surprise for the receiver, and add it to the basket. Everyone who brings a gift may then themselves take a gift of friendship in return. We hope you will all join in. See you on Thursday 9th at our July Meeting.

Now in its third year, the Strut brings our community together to honour the women and girls whose lives have been taken by male violence and to stand in solidarity for a future free from fear, exploitation, and harm.
