Massive congratulations to our Vice President Chris, who was awarded his 50 Year Service Award by our lovely CLV Shirley last week whilst at camp.
Chris has had a few roles within Norfolk Scouts since 1972 and was Scout Leader with B&P for many years, before being given his honorary role with us in 2024. Well done Chris!

After a very fun, wet and tiresome weekend at our annual group camp, we figured we needed a quieter night tonight! So we planned ahead and worked on our Father’s Day cards for “someone special”. We made a card by drawing around our hands and then turning it into a superhero!

Then we had a game of knock the ball off the cone! A great night had by all! ⭐️

Last night at Scouts was all about how to erect a simple but sturdy frame by using just 2 sections of tree branch, 3 pieces of string, 4 wooden pegs and a bit of imaginative thinking. A versatile structure for supporting a shelter, cooking or drying clothes etc and, with some string in your rucksack can be made out in the field with just a knife and pocket saw. All about being creative and using the natural resources you have available.

We’ve had a couple of similar incidents where young people at our group have saved their parents life over the years. Very proud.

Last week at beavers, we started working towards our Navigation Stage 1 badge. We learnt about the 4 compass points and played a game about them, then we spoke about the 4 seasons and what would be appropriate to wear on a hike in each of the seasons.

We also invested our 4 beaver recruits into our colony! Welcome to 2 years of fun learning! ⚜️
